I came across an interesting problem the other day. Files from microsd on an Android tablet with Allwinner A10/A31/A20 are not deleted. Files were not deleted from either the external microSD card or the internal memory.

The first thing I tried to do was change the permissions on the folder with the files. It happens that due to errors, the Android system on tablets with an Allwinner processor mounts an external storage device (memory card or flash drive) as READ ONLY. That's why files from microsd are not deleted

Having done everything necessary - installing root rights and setting the sdcard and external_sd (extcard) folder permissions to read and write files completely (777), I was a little surprised that the files from the MicroSD were not deleted again. And after a reboot, the memory card again becomes non-writable, and if you try to set the permissions again, an error appears.

Fortunately, I came across a detailed one describing what to do if files from microsd are not deleted. As we found out from the article - external drives They are mounted this way to protect the Android system, so files from the microsd are not deleted. This problem also occurs for users who recently updated to Android 4.4 KitKat, since the ability of third-party applications to modify files that do not directly relate to these applications has been disabled.

First you need to install Root on your tablet. You can read how to do this in.

After successful installation, you must use any explorer that allows full access to system files. I used the good old ES Explorer. Now you need to find and edit the platform.xml file. It is located in /system/etc/permissions/

Now we open the file directly on the tablet and find 2 lines that interest us

We only need to add a couple of lines:

Add to the first line

And to the second line

Surely there are completely unnecessary files on your smartphone that only take up extra space. You can always remove them so they don't fit. You will learn how to do this from our article.

I would like to immediately note that the user can delete any files except system ones, although the latter can also be deleted if available, which in turn can turn the device into a brick. Therefore, if you are not sure whether a particular file can be deleted, it is better not to touch it.

Deleting files is possible not only using the device itself, but also using a computer - when the device is connected to it. Let's go in order.

Deleting files using a file manager

You will need any file manager. In our examples we use ES conductor.

You can only delete a recording from a disc on rewritable discs marked RW.

For high-quality cleaning, it is still better to use programs for burning and erasing disks.

In order to play 3D games, DirectX must be installed on your computer. Without it, games simply won't work. But sometimes you need to remove a component to reinstall it again. Although DirectX itself does not require this, such a need does occur. For example, you launch a game, and you get a message about the absence of DirectX. But when you install a component, the program writes that it is already installed and does not need to be updated.

You will need

  • - Computer with Windows OS;
  • - DirectX Eradicator uninstaller;
  • - DirectX Happy Uninstall program.

Instructions

First way uninstall DirectX suitable for computer owners with operating system Windows XP. We will talk about removing the so-called DirectX 10 or 11. The fact is that neither 10, nor especially 11 are officially supported by this operating system. But, nevertheless, the network is full of them. And if you downloaded and installed such DirectX on Windows XP and noticed that games began to malfunction or not start at all, then you need to remove it.

This DirectX is installed as a regular program. Accordingly, it can also be deleted. Click "Start", then select "All Programs". Find DirectX and select Uninstall. If there is no uninstaller in the programs, then another method will suit you. Open Control Panel and select Add or Remove Programs. Find DirectX there and remove it.

Using the following method, you can completely remove DirectX, regardless of version and operating system. Download a special DirectX Eradicator uninstaller from the Internet. It does not require installation, it is downloaded in an archive. Unzip the archive and open the dxerad. After this, a warning will appear that removing the component may lead to unstable operation of the operating system. In the warning box, click “Yes.” DirectX will be removed.

Today you won’t surprise anyone with a smartphone with the capabilities of a computer. Powerful and “heavy” graphic games, movies in HD quality, VoIP telephony via GPRS and Wi-Fi protocols... Not the top models of mobile devices can cope with all this perfectly. The design of the phone is gradually becoming more complex, and special firmware is appearing that is responsible for the efficient operation of the entire device. The problem is that when such firmware fails, the phone turns into a “brick”.

RAM, keyboard and display, flash memory, processor, video accelerator. This is not a listing of the working parts of a computer. These are the details that make up today modern smartphone, essentially standing on the ladder of technical progress is much closer to a full-fledged computer than to just a telephone. It should be noted that flash memory is very important for a modern telephone; it is a chip in which hardware settings and software are imprinted in a special way. Popularly, these settings are called firmware, and software updates are called flashing.

The device freezing, shutting down, spontaneously rebooting, turning off the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi ports are some of the most common symptoms of impending problems with the smartphone’s firmware that require your attention. These problems will not go away on their own; on the contrary, they will only increase. It is very rare when the firmware crashes just like that, without warning. The reasons may vary. A new, just released device may have so-called “raw” firmware, which the manufacturer plans to refine in the future. A smartphone can also break as a result of the actions of its owner, for example, due to the installation of custom firmware, which was assembled by users based on the factory one and is purely experimental.

A smartphone with a crashed firmware can be taken to a specialist for service. Moreover, this is the best thing to do if the device is still under warranty. For those whose warranty period has expired, there is the opportunity to deal with the problem themselves. It must be said that manufacturers have different attitudes towards self-repair of their products. Let's say Sony Ericsson and until recently, Nokia even encouraged experiments with phones, posted new firmware directly on the official website, and provided users with special software for connecting a smartphone and a computer. And HTC and Apple blocked access to the system files of their phones, prohibiting users from changing their structure.

To reflash the phone yourself, search the Internet for sites and forums of fans of your phone brand. Usually these sites have experienced people who will always help a newbie.

To restore the firmware, you will definitely need a USB cable, a new version software downloaded from the manufacturer’s official website and a special program that allows you to replace old software with new one. Please note that when replacing the firmware, all data on internal memory The phone will be erased, including your address book, photos and other media content. The data on the external memory card, if your smartphone has one, will remain safe and sound.

Restoring the firmware may take a while. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your phone brand, take your time, and don't be afraid to make mistakes. After all, you won’t be able to “kill” your phone with an unsuccessful flashing. But an unfinished flashing process can easily send you to service, turning your smartphone into a “brick.” To prevent this from happening, it is enough to provide your phone uninterruptible power supply from the mains.

Tip 8: How to delete a file that is occupied by another application

Sometimes when you try to delete a file, a notification appears that the file is occupied by another application and cannot be deleted. The reason for this is that on this moment There is a process in the operating system that uses this file, so deleting it is impossible. Of course, it is very unpleasant when it is impossible to delete a file on your own computer. But this does not mean that it cannot be removed altogether.

You will need

  • - Computer with Windows XP OS;
  • - Unlocker program.

Instructions

In order to delete this file, you need to close the program that uses it. If you know what program it is, then do so. Press the key combination Ctrl+Shift+Esc. If you are using the Windows XP operating system, the Task Manager will appear immediately after pressing these keys. Or press the key combination Ctrl+Alt+Del and a window will open. In this window, select "Task Manager".

After opening the task manager, go to the “Processes” tab. Then in the “Description” section, look for the name of the program. After you find the program, right-click on it. A context menu will appear. In it, select “End process”. A window will pop up warning you about possible data loss. In this window, also click “End Process”. Once the process is completed, you can safely delete the file as it is no longer in use by any process.

If you have no idea what program may be using the file you want to delete, then you first need to know the name of that program. This can be done using the Unlocker program, which is completely free. Download it from the Internet and install it on your computer’s hard drive. You don't need to run Unlocker. After installation it will start automatically.

Now right-click on the file you want to delete. Next in context menu select Unlocker. A window will appear. This window will contain information about the process that is blocking file deletion. Click on this process with the left mouse button. Then, at the bottom of the window, click on the “Kill process” option. Wait a few seconds. The program window will close. Now the process that was blocking the file deletion has been removed. Right-click on the file and select “Delete” from the context menu.

The Windows operating system allows you to easily operate any files, be it programs or user files. But sometimes the user is faced with a situation where he cannot delete a file.

First of all, try to understand why the file cannot be deleted. There are several reasons why you may not be able to do this. First of all, you may be trying to delete an important system file. The second reason may be an attempt to delete a file from a running program. Finally, the file being deleted may be a virus file that has anti-deletion mechanisms. If you need to delete or replace an operating system file, the easiest way to do this is by booting from a second OS - if you have one installed on your computer. If you don't have it, you can boot using a bootable Live CD. This is a shortened but fully functional version of the operating system. It is useful in many cases - for example, if it is impossible to boot the computer from the main OS. With its help, you can also delete the file of your main operating system. But do this carefully - if you delete a file important for the OS, it may not boot. If a message appears saying that you are trying to delete a file from a running program, stop it. This can be done in the Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del) or use any suitable program, which shows a list of running processes and allows you to stop them - for example, with the AnVir Task Manager program. This program will not only allow you to view the list running processes, but also see the location of their executable files and autorun keys in the registry. In addition, it shows the degree of danger of running processes. If, after deleting a file and restarting the computer, it appears again, we can say with a high degree of confidence that it is a virus file. To remove it, you need to find the autorun key and all components associated with the virus file. The virus can copy itself into several folders, so deleting one file and the launch key may not be enough. Especially if you have an infected program and every time you start it, the virus takes up residence in the system again. Therefore, the first thing you need to do in such a case is to scan your computer with an antivirus with new databases. To delete files that do not want to be deleted, you can use the Unlocker program. This is a very convenient utility that is built into the context menu. Just right-click on the file that cannot be deleted and select Unlocker from the context menu. Then in the menu, select the option of your action with the file - delete, rename, move. Some Unlocker files cannot be deleted immediately, they will be marked for deletion and deleted during the next computer restart.

Even when performing simple operations with ami file Difficulties may arise. For example, when deleting a file, you can get a system failure under the “sauce” that it is protected from records, cannot be moved and so on. In some cases this protection is physical, as is the case with recorded optical disk data that can only be deleted by damaging (scratching or breaking) the disk itself. If the ban is software, it can be removed or bypassed.

You will need

  • - Computer with Windows OS.

Instructions

The easiest to remove protected files are those whose attributes have the “Read Only” property set. To change this attribute, right-click on the icon of the desired file and select “Properties” from the context (drop-down) menu. In the window that opens, at the bottom of the “General” tab, uncheck the box next to “Read Only”. The file can now be deleted.

IN modern world Millions of terabytes of digital content are created every day, which includes photos, videos, software and more. All this is stored on hard drives, flash drives, and memory cards.

Every day, our smartphones also accumulate information that can be lost at any moment. This is because the data on memory cards can be lost at any time due to accidental deletion or incorrect removal of the flash drive. In general, there are very, very many reasons, but now this is not the most important thing.

In this article I would like to tell you how to recover data from a memory card that has been deleted. Unfortunately, standard means It is impossible to carry out this process on Windows, so we will turn to the help of programs for restoring photos, videos and audio recordings.

As an example I will use microSD card from an MP3 player, which was previously mentioned on the site in articles about, as well as about. I will deliberately erase all audio tracks from it, and then, using the programs described below, I will restore it back.

You, in turn, will be able to recover not only music from your memory cards, but also photos, videos, documents and many other files.

Recuva (for Windows)

Recuva is a free program that works on all versions of the operating system. Windows systems(XP, 7, 8, 10, Vista). You can download it below:

Download Recuva for free

You shouldn't have any difficulties installing the program, so I won't describe this process. I'll get straight to the point. To recover files from your SD card, you need to connect the flash drive itself to the computer via a card reader, mobile phone, digital camera, etc.

Then open " My computer» and right-click on the corresponding removable drive. In the context menu that appears, select the command " Finding Deleted Files».

At the end of the scan, a list of files located on the memory card (both current and previously deleted) will appear. To recover a deleted file, you need to right-click on it and select the command “ Restore selected».

Pandora Recovery (for Windows)

Pandora Recovery is a free utility that is also designed to recover deleted data from SD cards, hard drives, USB flash drives, etc. You can download it below

Download Pandora Recovery utility for free

To make the experiment more reliable, I formatted my flash drive again. To restore files, you need to reconnect your storage device to your computer or laptop.

Now let's focus on an important point that will arise when you first launch the program - you need to select a scanning method. I recommend choosing deep scanning, since this method allows you to recover photos, music tracks, documents and other files even from damaged media.

Have you set it up? Then we move on to searching and restoring what was lost. Launch Pandora Recovery and go to the tab Search. Next, select the disk on which the search will be carried out, and then click on the button " Search".

Once the search is complete, you will see a list of files at the bottom of the screen. Find the one you need to restore and right-click on it. Then in the context menu select the command Recover to.

A dialog box will open in which you need to click on the “Browse” button, and then select the location where the file will be restored. Next, just click on the button " Recover now" and everything is ready.

Stellar Phoenix Mac Photo Recovery (for OS X)

Unfortunately, I do not have the opportunity to demonstrate the principle of operation of this program, but I know for sure that Stellar Phoenix Mac Photo Recovery is one of best programs to recover deleted files from storage media Mac computers running OS X 10.5 or higher.

Among other things, I would also like to highlight the following: free programs to recover deleted photos, songs, videos or documents from memory cards:

  • R.saver
  • USB Flash Drive Recovery
  • CardRecovery
  • chkRepair
I think it makes no sense to describe the process of returning data using the above-mentioned software, since the principle is the same as in the Recuva or Pandora Recovery programs.

In general, now you don’t have to worry about an accidentally deleted photo on your phone, because you know that with at least a USB cord and 5 minutes of free time, the image can be restored without any problems.

By the way, I almost forgot, in the next article we will look at best apps for devices running on operating system Android systems, with which you can also restore deleted files.

It happens that the storage medium “does not allow itself to be formatted,” and the system reports that it is write-protected, although the card or flash drive does not have a corresponding switch at all (or the protection is disabled). You can read data stored on the media, but you will not be able to delete it in any way. In other cases, the system supposedly deletes files without problems, but, in fact, they do not disappear.

Below are two methods that should help you unlock protected media and format it. Keep in mind, however, that they may not produce the expected results.

If the media is damaged, any attempts at formatting may not be effective. Then all that remains is to purchase a new medium and copy all the resources to it.

Secure media - unlocking via registry

If within the section Control there is no "StorageDevicePolicies" subkey, create one by right-clicking and selecting CreateChapter. Make sure you enter the name correctly. Select the created partition with the right mouse button, select CreateDWORD parameter. Name the new value WriteProtect and assign it the number 0 in the field Data values. Confirm with OK, close Registry Editor and reboot the system.

If the described method does not work, try the following tip.

Removing a lock with Diskpart

Connect the USB drive to the USB connector, then call the console. Enter for this cmd.exe In the Start menu search box, right-click the item found and select Run as administrator. Administrator rights will allow you to avoid the message Access denied.

Then enter the following commands in sequence, confirming each by pressing the Enter key.

diskpart

list disk

select disk x(x means the drive number assigned to the USB memory being used - determine this number based on the capacity of the media included in the list)

attributes disk clear readonly

create partition primary

format fs=fat32(you can use the option ntfs instead of fat32 if you intend to use the media only on Windows computers)

The most common reasons for losing the contents of an SD card are: accidental formatting, failure software and mechanical damage to the media. Knowing the root cause of the problem, you can choose the most appropriate recovery method that would allow you to recover lost data with maximum efficiency.

Procedure for recovering data from an SD card

If you find any problems with the functioning of the flash drive (it is not recognized by the gadget or PC, its volume is displayed incorrectly, etc.), you need to copy the files as quickly as possible, format the device, scan it antivirus program and diagnose errors.

If you cannot access the contents of the memory card, you should try to recover the lost files yourself. To do this you can:

  • use special software;
  • perform hardware intervention.

The first method of recovering files and folders is simpler, so anyone can do it. With its help, you can with a high probability return data deleted after formatting or software failure.

To perform resuscitation at home you need to have on hand:

  • PC with at least Windows XP operating system installed;
  • a device for reading an SD card (card reader) or a corresponding connector on a computer;
  • connected internet;
  • special program.

The procedure for restoring the contents of a flash drive after an unplanned formatting or failure will be as follows:

  1. A resuscitation program is installed. You can download it on the Internet from free resources or purchase a licensed version. For private use, free software is sufficient.
  2. The device in which the SD card is installed is turned off, then the media is removed and connected to the computer.
  3. The installed program is launched, which searches for files deleted after formatting or failure and saves them on the PC.

Hardware intervention is performed when the SD card is mechanically damaged. In this case, the final result depends on the degree and nature of the damage. Repairing a storage device or restoring information from it is a complex procedure, so it is better to entrust it to a specialist.

Programs for resuscitation after data deletion

The success of restoring access to lost information directly depends on the software used. There are a huge number of resuscitation programs on the Internet that allow you to complete the task. The most effective ones are:

  • Recovery-studio;
  • R. Saver;
  • PhotoRec.

Recovering files after formatting an SD card using R-studio

Recovering a damaged SD card

Recovering deleted files from a damaged flash drive is much more difficult, but when the right approach it is still possible to do this. Each SD card is equipped with a microcontroller, for the operation of which it is responsible special program. If the media is removed from the slot incorrectly, it may fly off, causing the flash drive to stop working.

So, good afternoon, dear readers of the Fans-Android website. In this article I will try to tell you how to deal with the problems of files and folders disappearing from a memory card and what to do if different audio and video players partially do not see the files recorded on the memory card.

Let's first look at the LOST.DIR folder - why is it filling up? This directive is created in the case when Android is running File System ChecK (analogous Windows Chkdsk) and search for lost file chains. These files appear if you remove the memory card at the moment when something is being written to it. After all, Windows tries to record files when using the caching mechanism. When you unplug the cable, the contents of the cache will not have time to successfully appear on the disk and these files are considered no longer complete. After the device is disconnected from the computer, Android launches scanned cards and detects such “broken” files, and after that they are automatically moved to the LOST.DIR folder.

Now let's start looking at the issue from a practical point of view. First of all, so that you do not have such problems, you should always select “Safely Remove” before disconnecting the device from the computer, and then in the device itself, “Disconnect USB drive” (the name may differ slightly, depending on the model and firmware of the device).

In addition, it is worth regularly checking the memory card using the ScanDisk application - after all, the problem may lie in the memory card itself. Try formatting it and, following the advice above, write files to it.

How to format?

  1. To completely format the card on your phone, you will need to follow the path: Menu-Settings-Memory-Disconnect memory card (Remove card)-Empty card-Connect SD card (names may vary slightly depending on the phone model).
  2. Also, there is an option to format using a computer with a choice of different cluster sizes.
  3. Format using a special application SD Formatter or Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool. This is the so-called “low-level” formatting.

You can also try changing the cache on the memory card using the application® SD Speed Increase. If formatting does not help, then you should try replacing the card with another option. There is also a situation when the files you recorded are visible on the computer, but they are not displayed on the device. In this case, check if there is a .nomedia file in the folder in which they were recorded. If there is one, remove it immediately.

If files that were written there disappear from your memory card

  1. We noticed that some of the files may be missing due to installed applications. Try removing the latest ones from installed programs, after which you noticed this problem.
  2. There is a solution to the problem using the QuickPic gallery. Select "show" from the menu hidden folders" - thumbnails folder, missing photos and video files may be located in it.
  3. If none of the proposed methods helped you, try resetting to factory settings - this may help identify whether the problem was in the program or in the firmware - which is also quite likely.
  4. Try updating the firmware version.

If your music player doesn't see most audio files

  1. Try looking at the length of the file name, and whether it contains any symbols (punctuation marks, etc.). If the names are too long, try shortening them. In some cases this procedure has been useful.
  2. If there are a large number of files and they are all located in one folder, then most of them may not be displayed. Try to distribute them into several folders, approximately equally.
  3. Go to Settings - Applications - Application management - Applications, find the “Multimedia storage” item and select “Clear data”.
  4. If you use a standard player, then try installing any of the third-party custom application catalogs on your smartphone.
  5. Also, formatting the memory card often helps solve this problem.
