(released December 2014) come with Pip. This is the best feature of any Python release. This makes the community accessible to all libraries. Newcomers are no longer excluded from using public libraries due to excessive installation complexity. When shipped with a package manager, Python joins Ruby, Node.js, Haskell, Perl, & ndash; almost every other modern language with a majority open community. Thank you, Python.

If you find that the item is not available when using Python 3.4+ or Python 2.7. 9+, just do e.g.

Py -3 -m ensurepip

Of course, this doesn't mean packaging Python is a done deal. The experience remains disappointing. I discuss this in a Stack Overflow question. Does Python have a package/module management system? .

And, alas, for everyone using Python 2.7.8 or earlier (a significant part of the community). There's no plan to send Pip to you. Follow the instructions.

Python 2 ≤ 2.7.8 and Python 3 ≤ 3.3

Download get-pip.py, being careful to save it as a .py file rather than a .txt file. Then run it from the command line:

Python get-pip.py

You may need an administrator command prompt to do this. Run Command Prompt as Administrator (Microsoft TechNet).

This installs the pip package, which (on Windows) contains...\Scripts\pip.exe, this path must be in your PATH environment variable in order to use pip from the command line (see the second part of "Alternative Instructions" for adding it to your path,

Alternative Instructions

The official documentation tells users about installing Pip and each of its source dependencies. This is tedious for experienced and prohibitively difficult for beginners.

For our sake, Christoph Gohlke prepares Windows installers (.msi) for popular Python packages. It creates installers for all versions of Python, both 32-bit and 64-bit. You need:

For me it's installed Pip in C:\Python27\Scripts\pip.exe . Find pip.exe on your computer, then add its folder (e.g. C:\Python27\Scripts) to your path (running/editing environment variables). You should now be able to run pip from the command line. Try installing the package:

Pip install http

Here you go (I hope)! Solutions for common problems are given below:

Proxy problems

If you work in an office, you may be behind an HTTP proxy. If so, set the http_proxy and https_proxy environment variables. Most Python applications (and other free programs) respect them. Example syntax:

Http://proxy_url:port http://username:_url:port

If you're really unlucky, your proxy might be a Microsoft NTLM proxy. Free software can't handle it. The only solution is to install a free, free software-friendly proxy that redirects to the nasty proxy.

PIP camera is an Android application designed for editing already taken photos or creating new original photos. Perfect for creative individuals who want to have a series of unique photographs and collages. The program helps you process your photo using a variety of filters, add frames and stickers, and apply various effects. All this allows you to make each frame especially individual and memorable.

Program features

The most outstanding feature of this program is the creation of picture-in-picture photos. Many people dreamed of creating special, unique photographs in this style. And this function is implemented for devices on the Android platform. The editor allows you to create pictures in your own special style and take selfies in the original format. This is made possible by applying different filters to the initial template image and the snapshot that is an attachment to the first.

In addition, the application offers several more editing modes - frames and collages:

  1. In the first case, the user will be offered to add frames to a ready-made photo or take a photo with the specified effect. The editor has 40 built-in frame options of various designs, from which it is easy to choose the most suitable one.
  2. Making collages is another possibility. To do this, more than 200 options for blanks are provided, into which you only need to insert the necessary pictures. In this case, you can adjust the quality of the background image, enhance its blur, or apply another effect.

The editor program is very functional:

  • Allows you to perform various actions and work with images from different sources.
  • Photos are imported from the gallery or directly from the camera. In this case, you can select images not only from the camera folder, but also from the folders of other applications.
  • A large number of photo frames.
  • Various effects are not only familiar to users from other editors, but also original, for example, the glass effect.
  • Lots of filters for foreground and background images.
  • The ability to publish the resulting photo on popular social networks directly from the PIP camera.

The PIP camera app constantly updates its set of filters, frames and collage templates. Download the program to your Android mobile device, and you will get a lot of new impressions and incomparable pleasure from the likes and enthusiastic comments received from friends.

In this section, we will learn how to install Python and the package manager on Windows 10 from scratch. The best way to install Python on Windows is download official installer from python.org. To do this, open your browser and go to https://python.org/. Once the installer has finished downloading, open Downloads. The site will detect that you are visiting it on Windows and offer to download the latest version Python 3 or Python 2. If you don't know which version to use, then I recommend Python 3. If you need to work with legacy Python 2 code, then you need Python 2. Under the Tabs DownloadsDownload for Windows Click the “Python 3.X.X” (or “Python 2.X.X”) button to download the installation file.

64-bit Python vs 32-bit

If you're wondering whether it's 64-bit or 32-bit, you'll most likely need 32-bit. Sometimes quite hard to find The binaries are for 64-bit, which means that some third-party modules may not install correctly on 64-bit Python. My opinion is to use the version that is specifically recommended on the official website. If you click the Python 3 or Python 2 button under “ Download for Windows”, you will receive exactly the version you chose. Remember if you end up doing incorrect choice and want to switch to a different version of Python, you can simply remove existing version and reinstall it by downloading another installer from the official website.

Running the Python installer

Once the installer has finished downloading, double-click it to get started. Be sure to check the box for " Add Python X.Y to PATH» in the setup wizard. Make sure the “ Add Python X.Y to PATH” is supplied in the installer, otherwise you will have problems with the Python installer accessing the command line. Click " Install" to start installation. The installation should go quickly and Python will be ready to run on your system. The next step is to make sure everything has been completed properly.

Confirming that Python was installed correctly

Once the installation is complete, Python should be installed on your computer. Let's make sure everything was done correctly by testing whether Python has access to command line(cmd) Windows:

  • Open the Windows command prompt by running cmd.exe
  • Enter pip and press "Enter"
  • You will see Python package manager help text called “ ”. If you receive an error message, repeat the Python installation steps and ensure that you have working version of Python. Most of the problems you may encounter will have something to do with your PATH being configured incorrectly. Reinstalling and confirming that the “ Add Python to PATH” has been activated, should fix this problem.

Now what?

Once you've made sure everything is done correctly, and you've verified that it's working correctly on your command line, you can confidently say that you've installed Python on your system.

PIP Camera is a portable photo editor suitable for making adjustments to photos before uploading them to Instagram. The package contains the most versatile photo frames, collages, and other overlays. You can upload pictures to the application directly from the smartphone’s memory or through the camera. In certain modes for editing the dimensions of a photo, the background of the picture is blurred along with the shades of the photo. There are more than two hundred collages available. The maximum possible number of pictures in one collage is ten, which is a lot when compared with other products of this type.

More than two dozen different filters, as well as a special editor, will be available in the program. You can attach a sticker, a message to the photo, increase the sharpness, and crop the edges. You can retouch the brightness of colors, saturation, and other options yourself. The resulting photos can be saved on a flash card or uploaded to a social network that you use on a regular basis. Controls in PIP Camera are not particularly complicated; the only drawback of the program can be considered the lack of a Russian-language version. This disadvantage is in some way solved by the icons, by which you can find out what this or that section in the menu will do. A set of overlay frames, interesting special effects and other techniques are constantly updated by the creators of the project. The project is interesting because such opportunities that exist here were presented for the first time.

In the options for the application, you can choose the path where exactly the photo will be dumped. In principle, at this stage the functionality of the settings is completed. We can conclude that the pip camera is an incredibly easy-to-use product that provides non-standard options for editing and decorating custom photos, without requiring a person to have special knowledge in the field of operation. All you need to do is simply find the material you are interested in and see the final result. At the moment, this application from Google Play has been downloaded more than ten million times. Use your imagination, go to the PIP camera program, and then you will be guaranteed a huge number of likes on the social network.

Main features of PIP Camera:

  • Frames of various orientations and designs;
  • The ability to upload photos to the editor, both from the gallery of a mobile device and using a camera;
  • Over two dozen ready-to-use frames;
  • The largest set of stickers and decals;
  • The ability to combine and experiment with available filters;
  • The coolest features to choose from;
  • Ability to change font format, text and other parameters for editing collages;
  • Regular updating of the library settings catalog;
  • Over twenty filters for image retouching;
  • Quickly upload finished material to social networks.

Before installing anything, let's figure out what a package is, how it differs from a module, and how to work with it. The word "package" has two meanings in Python.

On the one hand, Python packagesare Py applications, add-ons or utilities that can be installed from an external repository: Github, Bitbucket, Google Code or the official Python Package Index . On the server, packages are stored in .zip and .tar archives, or in additional packaging - “eggs” (.egg, old format) or “wheels” (.whl). The package usually includes an installation script called setup.py, which stores information about dependencies - other packages and modules, without which the package will not work.

On the other hand, if we are talking about the architecture of a Python application, a package is a directory within which a file__init__.py and, optionally, other directories and .py files. This is how a large Python program is broken down into packages and modules.A module is a file with source code that can be used in other applications: as a “blank” for future projects or as part of a library/framework. But this is not directly related to the topic of the article, so further we will only talk about packages from repositories.

To install packages with all dependencies in seconds, usepip package manager or module easy_install. In most cases it is recommended to use pip. And only if you have an infrastructure based on .egg packages that pip does not open, you need easy_install.

Installing PIP for Python 3 and 2

If you are using venv or virtualenv based virtual environments, pip is already installed. Since Python 3.4 (for Python 2 - since version 2.7.9), pip comes with an interpreter. For earlier versions, you must install the package manager manually. There are two options:

    Using the get_pip.py script - quickly.

    Through setuptools - in addition to pip, we can use easy_install.

Option 1. Download the script get_pip.py and run it in the console. To do this, open the terminal via Win+R>"cmd">OK and write:

python get_pip.py

The installer will do the rest himself: if necessary, he will also install wheel (for unpacking .whl wheels) and setuptools. To prevent the installation of additional tools, you can add the --no-setuptools and/or --no-wheels switches to the line.

If the error occurs, the path to Python is not set in the $PATH environment variable. You need to either find this variable in the system registry and set its value, or each time specify the full path to python.exe, followed by the name of the executable Py file:

C:/python32/python.exe get_pip.py

The full path is also useful if you have several versions of Python on your computer and install a package for one of them.

Option 2.Download the archive with setuptools from PYPI and unpack it into a separate directory. In the terminal, go to the setuptools directory with the setup.py file and write:

python setup.py install

You can update pip for Python on Windows like this:
python pip install -U pip

If this doesn't work, you need to add the path to the pip folder to $PATH.

Installing a package in pip

It's time to run pip in Python and start installing packages with a short command from the console:

pip install packagename

When installing on Windows, you need to add "python -m" before pip.

Updating the package is not more difficult:

pip install package_name -U

If you have the latest version of a package, but want to force a reinstallation of it:

pip install --force-reinstall

You can view a list of installed Python packages using the command:

pip list

You can find a specific package by name using the "pip search" command. You can read about other commands in the help that is issued by the "pip help" command.

Removing a Python package

When the package is no longer needed, we write:

pip uninstall packagename

How to install packages in Python without pip

The .egg format is not often used anymore, so pip does not support it. The easy_install module can install both .egg and regular packages, but it has important disadvantages:

    it doesn't remove packages,

    it may be trying to install an under-downloaded package.

You can use easy_install immediately after installing setuptools. The module is stored in the Scripts folder of your interpreter. If you have the correct path in $PATH, you can install packages from PYPI with a short command:

easy_install package_name

To update, after install and before the package name you need to put the -U switch. You can roll back to the desired version like this:

easy_install package_name=0.2.3

If you need to download a package from an alternative source, you can specify a URL or local address on your computer:

easy_install http://address_repository.ru/directory/package-1.1.2.zip

To learn about easy_install options, run it with the -h switch:

easy_install -h

The list of packages installed via easy_install is stored in the file easy-install.pth in the /libs/site-packages/ directory of your Python.

Fortunately, you can remove packages installed via easy_install using pip. If it is not there, you will need to remove the package manually and erase its information from easy-install.pth.

Now you can install and remove packages for your version of Python.
