It features a powerful 5dBi antenna, allows for quick and easy network configuration, and supports the creation of up to four wireless networks and has flexible administration tools.
2 Connection) Connecting the splitter: Connect the Ethernet cable from Vega, which is installed in your apartment, to the splitter into the socket marked as “Line” (indicated in Figure 3). The splitter separates the frequencies of the voice signal (0.3-3.4 KHz) from the frequencies used by the ADSL modem (6 KHz-.4 MHz). This eliminates the mutual influence of the modem and the telephone (fax). Next, connect the Asus DSL-N0E modem to the socket marked “ADSL” (indicated in Figure 3). The cable for this connection is included with the modem. Next, connect the telephone cable going to your telephone to the socket marked “Phone” (marked 3 in Figure 3). Fig 3) Connecting the modem. Connect the adapter to the power connection socket and plug it into a 0V outlet. Connect the Ethernet cable from the splitter to the WAN port. The modem has 4 ports for connecting a PC. Connect your PC to any of these four ports. The remaining ports can serve you to connect additional PCs via twisted pair cable (i.e., via a wired connection). 3) PC settings (for Windows). Remove the modem from the package, connect power, connect to the splitter and PC as indicated in the paragraph. To configure the modem, open the browser window installed on your PC (MS Explorer, Opera, others); In the address bar, enter the IP address of the modem (Fig. 4): Fig. 4

Vega has the following parameters: VPI parameter: a) For all clients of all cities and enterprises (Optima, Farlep, CSS, Matrix): “0” (Fig. -); VCI parameter (Fig. -): a) For SS clients (all cities except Donetsk, Mariupol, Shakhtersk, Lugansk), Farlep (Odessa): “33” (Fig. 8-); b) For SS clients. Donetsk, Mariupol, Shakhtersk, Lugansk: “35”; c) For clients of PC “Alpha” (Lviv, Ternopil, Chernivtsi): “3”; d) For CSS clients (Odessa): “3” Select the parameters you need and enter them in the settings window, for example, for the city of Dnepropetrovsk. Next, you need to enter the username that you were given when concluding the agreement (Fig. -3), indicate the password for authorization on the PPPoE server, which you were also given when concluding the agreement (Fig. -4, 5). If you do not know or have forgotten your username and password, you can call Vega technical support at number 47, give your contract number, and the operator will tell you these parameters. After completing all the steps, click “Next” (Fig.-6):
12 Fig. The next step in setting up the modem is setting up a Wi-Fi wireless network (Fig. 3): Fig. 3 You need to: a) enable the wireless interface global network(Fig. 4-); b) select the signal bandwidth (we recommend 4 GHz (B+G+N)), (Fig. 4-); c) come up with and enter a name for your network (for example, Tatran, Fig. 4-3); d) select the encryption method, to do this, click on the selection arrow and select the method you need from the drop-down list, for example WPA (TKIP) (Fig. 4-4):

Using the created Wi-Fi wireless network.) You can use the router to work on the Internet through the created Wi-Fi network(if your PC has a Wi-Fi module or using a Wi-Fi adapter).) Connecting to a network via a Wi-Fi module: To use the Wi-Fi network you created, first activate the Wi-Fi module on your PC. This happens differently on different PCs. If you have a desktop PC without a built-in Wi-Fi module, then to log into the wireless network you can use a Wi-Fi adapter, for example, D-Link Wireless G. If you have already installed the adapter on your PC, simply connect it to a free USB port. If you have not installed it yet, you need to install it on your PC (instructions for installation and configuration are posted on the website of the Vega telecommunications group, and in Personal Account on the Statistics Server in the “Instructions” section). If you have a laptop with a built-in Wi-Fi module, then you need to turn it on. For example, on an HP Compaq nc400 laptop, on top panel 5
16 controls have an icon for turning on/off Wi-Fi (Fig. 8-9). The module is turned on by simply clicking on the network icon. After changing the tariff to unlimited and with increased speed, I started thinking about buying a new Wi-Fi router. Otherwise, my old RT-N13U B1, which worked for several years with a modem from the Intertelecom provider, is already a little tired. It began to frequently cut off the network, devices refused to connect and it often just had to be rebooted. To replace it, I bought an Asus RT-N18U. New, good model with two USB ports. Asus RT-N18U also supports 3G/4G USB modems (instead of a modem there can also be an Android phone), and can distribute wireless 3G Internet via Wi-Fi and network cable to all your devices.
We will talk in more detail about the Asus RT-N18U router itself in a separate article. And on this page, I want to show you the process of setting up an Asus router to work with a 3G modem. These instructions are suitable for all Asus routers that support USB modems(USB 3G WAN port) and have new version firmware (dark).
Asus routers that support 3G USB modems:
RT-AC87U, RT-AC55U, RT-N56U, RT-N14U, RT-AC51U, RT-N66U, RT-N65U, RT-AC52U, RT-AC3200, RT-N18U, DSL-N17U, RT-N10U B, RT -AC66U, RT-AC56U
These are not all models. But, this list contains the newest models for which this instruction is suitable.
All these models support USB 3G modems. Asus has a lot of such devices. There are both very expensive models and more affordable ones. In any case, if you want to distribute the Internet via a Wi-Fi network from a 3G modem, then you can easily select a suitable router for yourself.
By the way, it is very important that the router supports your modem so that they are compatible. This must be checked before purchasing. Asus routers have a very decent list of compatible modems. The compatibility list can be viewed on the official website, following this link: https://www.asus.com/event/networks_3G4G_support/. In the table we look for our country, look at the provider and models of compatible modems.
I will be setting up Asus RT-N18U with Huawei modem EC 306. Internet provider – Intertelecom (you may have a different modem and provider). We will configure it through the wizard quick setup, according to this scheme:
- Connecting a 3G USB modem to Asus RT-N18U.
- Login to the router settings.
- Changing the admin password to enter settings. Protecting your router control panel.
- Setting up a 3G modem on an Asus router.
- Setting up a Wi-Fi network and setting a password.
How to connect a 3G USB modem to an Asus router?
If the router is new, just from the store, then take it out of the box and connect the antennas (if they exist and are removable), then connect the power adapter and plug it into a power outlet. Connect your 3G modem to the router's USB connector:
If the router has several USB connectors, such as on my Asus RT-N18U, then the modem can be connected to any connector. But, as a rule, one of the USB version 3.0 (it's blue). I recommend leaving it for connecting flash drives, or hard drives. And connect the modem to a regular USB 2.0.
