To install the official stock firmware on the Galaxy S3 and return the phone’s status (“Settings” > “About device” > “Properties” > “Device status”) to “Official” after switching from custom firmware and thereby returning the ability to receive updates over the air, just follow the instructions provided.
Installation instructions
Unpack the downloaded archive into a folder with Odin PC for convenience. The file in the ".tar" or ".tar.md5" format must be left, but the "SS_DL.dll" can be deleted.
Reset your device.
To do this, go to the settings tab " Accounts
" to the section " Archive and reset", select the item " Reset device" and press the button " Delete everything" The phone will reboot.
Run Odin PC as administrator.
Put your device into download mode ( Download Mode).
To do this, you need to simultaneously hold down the Volume Down key, the Home button and the Power button. Then wait until the phone reboots and agree to the warning by pressing the Volume Up key.
In this state, connect the smartphone to the computer. In Odin the message “ COM».
Click on the “ AP» and select the TAR firmware archive.
Items " Auto Reboot" And " F.Reset Time" must be activated, A " Re-Partition"if active - must be disabled.
Click on the “ Start" The firmware installation process will begin.
At the end of the operation, if everything was successful, the message “All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)". The phone must be restarted manually by holding down the power button until the screen turns off. It may take up to 5 minutes for your device to boot up initially.
ATTENTION!
If the device does not boot for a long time or the data has not been reset, it must be performed from recovery.
To do this, you need to simultaneously hold down the Volume Up key, the Home button and the Power button. After downloading, select " Wipe data/Factory reset", and then - " Reboot system now" If after these steps the device also freezes when loading, you need to reflash it again.

Initially, in the first versions, the device was wildly glitchy, froze, turned itself off, applications stopped working (processes were terminated urgently), lost the network and stupidly died - it turned off for no particular reason and would not turn on again - on servers they stupidly changed the boards under warranty (who was lucky) and They explained that this was a factory defect, but about a year later the situation leveled out and there were fewer such jambs, which Samsung engineers could correct.
The main drawback of this device today is its fragility - if you pressed or pinched it a little and God forbid you dropped it, a crack in the sensor is guaranteed, and this means replacing the entire display module (up to 8,000 thousand rubles for repairs in some sharashkas). Samsung GT-I9300 Galaxy S3 - software update and ROOT rights.
Before we start flashing the firmware, let's first prepare everything we need:
- Let's fully charge the battery;
- MicroUSB Any cable will do, but it’s better to take one from the kit;
- Firmware, latest version -I9300XXUGOE1 ;
- Flasher program - Odin3 v3.04 ;
- Drivers - install kies (when updating the software, do not run this application, or better yet, go to the task manager and kill all processes called kies). But it’s better to install the drivers there and post about how to install them correctly;
- Personal computer or laptop of average configuration with operating system WIN7 SP1 should be enough;
- CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar - firmware file for rooting.
First do backup copy all data or use the KIES program to save all necessary files on computer. Soon there will be an article on how to backup the firmware - I’m already writing it. You can download all files at the end of the article.

Step 1:If you have not yet charged the battery, then it’s time to do it, insert the battery into the phone and enter the device into DOWNLOADING mode - to do this, first press and hold HOME button(central), then the volume down key and then the power button.
Step 2:Information will appear warning us about possible problems with the phone when using modified firmware. And it offers to either continue or restart the smartphone. Continue pressing the volume up key. A green android robot should appear. We are on the right track.
Step 3:Download the archive with the firmware and flash driver and launch the application Odin3_v3.04.exe.

If everything is fine, press the START button.
Step 8:"PASS"- in about five minutes the device will be flashed. All, Samsung GT-I9300 Galaxy S3 ready to use. You latest version firmware.
