Transfer of UMI CMS from the test domain to the main one. Transferring UMI CMS from a test domain to the main one Designs and working with templates

On this tab you can add other domains that you want to manage through the UMI.CMS system.

Enter its domain address Domain name. After saving new domain will appear in the main site tree. Then you can host a site there and manage it in the same way as your main site.

When registering the second and subsequent domains that you want to manage through UMI.CMS, direct them to the directory with UMI.CMS in your provider's hosting settings, and also specify the same NS records for it at the domain name registrar.

You can specify "Default language" for a specific domain. In this case, when you go to this domain, the corresponding version will be shown.

The "Uses SSL" checkbox allows you to control the protocol when generating addresses by the system. Possible values are "http" (leave the field empty) and "https" (checkbox required). Example of generated addresses: links in sitemap.xml, in yml, etc. ( This setting works only on new implementation of modules).

“Favicon allows you to upload a site icon (favicon).

Starting with version 2.8.3, the mechanism for generating the site map used by search robots has changed. A field has appeared in the “Domains” tab "Update sitemap.xml". After upgrading to version 2.8.3, you need to manually update sitemap.xml for each domain for the first time. Next, sitemap.xml is updated automatically when changes are saved to the pages. You can view the content by typing in the address bar of your browser yourdomain_name/sitemap.xml.

With version 2.12, sitemap.xml now supports automatic splitting into several maps if the number of addresses exceeds 50,000. This is a requirement of search engines. Also, the sitemap is now updated additionally during a system update.

Attention: When importing new pages using UMI.CMS automatic update sitemap.xml is not happening! This is done to reduce the load on the server during the import process.

Clicking on the icon leads to editing domain properties.

Here you can set a prefix for the window titles (will be displayed in addition to the TITLE specified in the page settings), as well as meta tags, which will be substituted by default if the corresponding fields are not filled in for any page or publication.

Field " Google Analytics Id" is for the Google Analytics system identifier for this domain.

Site name - From version 2.8.5.3 moved to this page to make it easier to manage multi-domain and multi-language systems. Now this parameter can be set separately for each domain and language version of the site, and can also be used in site templates using a special macro.

Each domain can have one or more "mirrors". For example, if you want your site to be accessible not only by the name http://yourdomain.com, but also by http://www.yourdomain.com, you need to add this name to the “mirror”. The same applies to domain names located in different domain zones. Let's say you own the names yourdomain.com and yourdomain.ru, but you want the information on both addresses to be the same. Then you just need to enter one of the names in the “mirrors”.

This function is available only to owners of licenses for the Corporate, Business, Commerce editions.

The UMI CMS licensing policy is not transparent to me. Perhaps this is because I simply did not make enough effort to understand how and what the license from the control system applies to? Who knows…

But the fact remains a fact. And one fine day I had to face problems with transferring a finished website from a test domain to the main one.

Some lyrics:

  1. Usually, the development of a new website is not carried out on the main domain for a number of reasons, the main one of which is that the domain is working. And then constructions like: http://new.site.ru/ come into play
  2. The standard development time for a new website rarely takes less than one month, which is exactly what is given for using UMI CMS in the trial version. After the trial period ends, it becomes impossible to even get into the administrative part without entering the key. Therefore, using the trial version in its pure form until the transfer is not always possible.

So, what awaits an unprepared developer at the time of migration?

And, in fact, it expects nothing less than a violation of the licensing policy and, in theory, the impossibility of the site’s operation. I’ve never put it into practice, although I’ll try it in the near future.

How to do everything right?

Required:

  • license key from UMI CMS (the one that has already been activated on the test domain)
  • working email
  • about a day's head start (correspondence is not a quick thing)
  • obedient hands

What are we doing?

  • go to the website http://www.umi-cms.ru/ in the support section (at the time of writing this article - http://www.umi-cms.ru/support/)
  • In the “License key” field, enter the required license key and click “Check”. We receive a form for contacting the care service
  • We present our situation in the form presented (blah blah blah, we are moving the site from the test domain to the main one, help). It is advisable to indicate the name of both domains at once so as not to raise unnecessary questions
  • If you’re lucky, in the response letter they will immediately write that they have removed the key’s binding to the site and you can safely reactivate it. (or they will ask for something there and then there will be a small swing)
  • After this, you can safely transfer the site

What then?

As soon as the site is transferred, you need to relink the site to the old key. But there's a catch.

Activation must occur on a domain name without (!!!) WWW. If it happens with WWW, problems may arise. So be sure to pay attention to this. The final mirror from WWW can be specified in the future and this will not be a problem.

How to activate?

I quote: “ In the administration panel, in the “Configuration” module, you need to delete the line containing the domain key and click “Save”, after which your site will display a form in which you will need to indicate your license key and click “OK”.»

Everything seems clear and simple.

NOTE: After deletion, the site will be completely inaccessible, with the exception of the key entry form itself. Therefore, try not to delay this operation, especially since this is already the main domain.

Legitimate question: what if you don't activate?

The very first problem I encountered was the impossibility of changing the password on the administrator (well, apparently not only on him).

This is most likely due to the fact that the domain specified in the settings differs from the existing one. And, judging by the seriousness of this moment (few people put a cool password on a system in development), surprises can be expected in the future if the necessary actions are not taken.

So I think it's worth activating. Moreover, the license has already been purchased.

That's all. Enjoy it for your health. Hope I saved you some time.

1C-UMI is universal platform for creating websites for business. Basic needs are closed: website of a specialist or company, landing page and an online store. The designer offers free plans, but the terms of use are such that they cannot be used for commercial projects. It remains to understand whether the paid plans of the designer are suitable for the creation and normal functioning of a business website.

Designs and working with templates

Templates - the most weak side designer. It’s as if they are returning to 2007 and offering absolutely terrible layout. In the entire catalog you can find no more than 5 worthy topics; you don’t even want to look at everything else.

When choosing a template, you need to pay attention to the type of site. If you purchased the “Landing” plan, then look at the themes only in the corresponding section of the layout catalog. The template determines the structure of the future site. The problem is that all topics are within one section built on the same structure . Look at the themes for a specialist’s website, and they all have a large photo at the top and a sidebar on the right or left.

Ok, there is a CSS editor to customize the theme. But was it possible to do a normal preview? I want to see how the template is displayed on different pages, what transitions and features there are. UMI offers to look at a screenshot of the main page and draw a conclusion whether the layout is good or not.

If you don't know how to work with code , there are three options: abandon this designer, be content with a minimum of template customization tools, or learn HTML/CSS. Most will choose the first option because there are other designers that offer normal options for modification appearance topics without editing source code. On 1C-UMI, at most you can change pictures and rewrite text on an ugly template.

Functionality

The Umisoft company has a CMS called UMI.CMS. Therefore, it is not surprising that the features of 1C-UMI show signs of a high-quality engine. There is also a clear division between the admin panel and the visual component of the site. The only difference from a CMS is the presence of an editor that allows you to customize pages without resorting to code.

The administrative panel does not pose any difficult tasks to master, offering an extremely clear menu structure. If you want to manage sales, go to the “Store” section. If you don’t like the appearance of the site, all the necessary tools are in the “Design” section.

Maximum possibilities are available when choosing the “Online store” tariff. The name of the designer unobtrusively suggests that the service has integration with 1C - this is also a legacy from UMI.CMS, which has been working with 1C: Enterprise trading configurations for a long time. The designer is good in everything related to store functionality. In addition to close cooperation with 1C, the service offers integration with “My Warehouse”, import/export via CSV, a block with recommended products and a choice of delivery options. No complaints here.

But the visual editor looks very weak compared to other designers. You can replace pictures, rewrite button names, delete and add pages. Blocks with content cannot be swapped even vertically, not to mention freely moving around the page. The layout is not just rigid, but reinforced concrete. To overcome this limitation, you need to edit the CSS.

Working with the visual designer is inconvenient because manual saving of changes is constantly required. The page has been deleted - until you save the configuration, you will not be able to edit further. And so on every little thing. On the one hand, this eliminates the loss of progress when accidentally closing the browser. On the other hand, the problem was solved long ago by adding autosave and change history with the ability to quickly roll back to previous state. It's strange that UMI continues to torment users with manual saving.

A site backup must also be created manually each time. Naturally, you will forget about this in about half an hour and will be left without an up-to-date backup. This is also a reference to the CMS: it’s as if the developers simply cut down a little on the capabilities of the engine’s administrative panel, forgetting that the designer should be simpler - otherwise why would it be needed at all?

Price policy

On home page you see an inscription in large letters stating that a website on 1C-UMI can be made for free. This is true. After the 15-day demo mode with access to all functions of the site, one of four free plans is activated: “Specialist Website”, “Company Website”, “Online Store” or “Landing Page”.

They differ from each other in functionality. For example, the free “Online Store” plan has a shopping cart and other sales tools, and “Landing” offers blocks that should be on a good landing page. With each free plan, you can create pages, add news, blog, and post photos. There is a form feedback, the ability to connect comments from social networks and view visit statistics.

Everyone is spoiled by restrictions. On free tariff plan x the site will have:

  • no more than 100 MB of disk space;
  • third level domain like site.umi.ru.

Such conditions are definitely not suitable for a business website, and a personal page can be created for free on other sites. However, the designer does not hide that the only purpose of the existence of free tariffs is to retain customers and gradually transfer them to a paid basis.

There are four paid tariff plans on the designer. They are called the same as the free ones. They also have different functionality: if you want to sell, choose “Online store”; you need a landing page - take “Landing”. You can switch between tariffs if you have money in your account.

Let's go through the dry figures of the tariffs that will come up if you want to pay for the designer for a year:

  1. Specialist website – 2640 rub/year, 4 GB of space;
  2. Landing – 4800 rub/year, 4 GB of space;
  3. The site of the company – 4800 rub/year, 4 GB of space. It differs from a specialist’s website in the ability to create a catalog with goods, but on a smaller scale than on a specialized tariff;
  4. Online store – 10,224 rubles/year, 10 GB of space. Gives access to all engine features without restrictions.

With a paid plan, you can connect a second-level domain, set up advertising and promotion, edit CSS styles. But it’s not so simple with them either. The designer plays with attention and indicates the minimum payment amounts per month. Online store for 216 rubles - this is very cool. But if you read the signature, which is very poorly visible on plain background, then it becomes clear that you will pay that kind of money only if you buy a tariff 10 years ahead .

To see more reasonable prices and terms, you have to go down. Here the cruel reality begins: it turns out that an online store, even if paid for a year in advance, will cost 825 rubles per month. This is not much, considering the prices on other services. The same landing page for 550 rubles if paid for 1 month is an attractive offer. So 1C-UMI does not draw extra zeros, but, on the contrary, removes them.

Optimization (SEO) and promotion

There is a special section “Advertising/SEO” on the control panel, which hides the technical parameters of promotion. Available features include:

  • Setting up site indexing in search engines.
  • View messages from promotion history.
  • Managing the robots.txt file to specify rules for search robots.
  • Adding attendance counter code.
  • Setting up redirects.

Social media marketing is included in a separate section. Here you will find tools for managing connected pages - which is very cool. Directly from the administrative panel you can create content for VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Facebook and Twitter, select templates and set up auto-posting. The service offers ideas for posts that are updated weekly.

Posts for social networks are created in graphic editor. Posting results are analyzed, so you receive not only statistics, but also recommendations for the optimal time to publish. In free mode, 5 posts per month are available in two social networks. Unlimited will cost 806 rubles per month if paid annually.

The work with social networks is excellent, but filling out the SEO parameters of pages is not implemented very well. Each page has to be opened in a visual editor, go to the meta tags tab, add keywords and description, save the result and repeat the circle as many times as there are pages on the site.

On other designers it is much more convenient: there is a separate section with all the pages, you open their settings in the list, enter the data, and save. There is no need to specifically go to each page and wait for it to load.

Pros and cons, alternatives

Among the advantages of 1C-UMI are:

  • Integration with 1C and other platforms for sales management.
  • Relatively low cost of paid tariffs.
  • A separate section for setting up SEO.
  • Built-in tools for promoting the project on social networks (even if you can publish no more than 5 posts per month for free).
  • Editing CSS.
  • Convenient control panel with logical division into categories.

But for a service to be excellent, it should not have serious disadvantages. In this sense, UMI can be classified rather as a “Satisfactory Designer”. Not great or even good, because:

  • There are many templates, but they are of poor quality and do not differ from each other.
  • The visual editor offers catastrophically few options for changing the appearance of the site.
  • No automatic saving changes and creation backup copy site, which is fraught with loss of information.

Eliminating these shortcomings is not so difficult. There are a large number of designers that do not offer similar tools for managing an online store, but can automatically save changes made through a powerful visual editor. In the case of UMI, you admire the integration with services and built-in promotion capabilities, and then you are indignant at the paucity of the visual editor and the need to manually save every edit.

You can now work with 1C-UMI only if you ready to manually edit the code and constantly remember the need to make a backup. You might as well use a CMS from Umisoft, because in this case there will be less reason to be indignant.

1C-UMI is good in terms of the functionality of the built online store. As a service for landing pages or a website for a specialist/company, it is no good, because a lot here is tied to a beautiful external design. An online store with such templates will also suffer. It is enough to look at other sites to understand that the themes on this designer are hopelessly outdated, as is the visual editor.

Designers similar to 1C-UMI

Alternatives to 1C-UMI The list could take a long time. All of these systems are different, but any of them will be a much better choice compared to 1C-UMI.

Today there is absolutely no problem making a website: you can use the services of freelancers, you can order a website from a studio, you can finally master some kind of content management system (CMS) and make a website yourself for free! However, creating a website is not so bad...

For example, you paid about 100 thousand rubles for the work (far from the highest price that is asked in a decent web studio in St. Petersburg or Moscow), and decided that this was the end of your spending. However, the content of the resource and its maintenance in current state also requires considerable expenses. Change the logo - pay, change contacts - pay, update the news feed - pay, etc. If the site is updated regularly, but you do not have your own full-time webmaster, then such costs add up to a pretty penny)).

As I mentioned, you can make a website yourself and take on all the work on its content. Almost all bloggers, for example, do this. Only a few of them know HTML basics and PHP, but this does not prevent them from maintaining their site themselves. However, is it possible to create an online store in this way, for example? No problem!

UMI.CMS has a very nice administrative panel, where there are tooltips next to each element. Managing the structure of a website and its content, in principle, is no more difficult than editing documents in Word - you get the hang of it really very quickly.

Don't believe me? Watch this short video:

The developers are also proud of their system for bringing a site to their hosting in one click. When you completely save your content and positions in search engines. This is possible due to the fact that UMI.CMS is a cross-platform development, that is, it works on almost any hosting equipment, including virtual servers.

To date, more than 150 thousand sites are already successfully operating on UMI.ru. Every day there are more and more clients for this service. There is no secret here: making a website yourself is really as easy as shelling pears, and the free plan is undoubtedly a significant advantage!

In order to analyze the most full version functionality of the engine, we used the UMI online store for testing. It includes all the features available on other plans. And the system is clearly aimed, first of all, at their creation.

In UMI for editing site pages a visual editor is used . Once in it, by pressing F2 you can make changes to the selected text or graphic element. Unfortunately, you cannot change the block structure (move, add or delete). Here you are a hostage to the template markup. Only editing inscriptions and replacing pictures. Not much. And the design of the WYSIWYG editor is outdated. Everything is clear, more or less convenient, but ugly and non-functional. You cannot achieve any noticeable page customization in it. Is it convenient to replace inscriptions and pictures with others? And thanks for that.

As for the structure of capabilities of the administrative panel itself, it is as follows:

Apart from the very decent store functionality, 1C-UMI couldn’t please us with anything special. Yes, the admin panel is convenient, understandable, the standard functionality for such systems is in place (well, almost: where can I change the background?), but this is all ordinary.

Average templates and the lack of options for customizing them, a weak visual editor and the lack of specific functionality for one-page sites (timers, icon sets, etc.) make 1C-UMI a poorly adapted platform for developing bright business cards and effective landing pages. We are not talking about blogs at all (only commerce), although you can create one if you wish.

Everything says one thing: you need to make a store in UMI , otherwise the system simply will not justify itself. If you decide, you will get platform-exclusive features: synchronization with 1C And "MySklad" , as well as some semblance of CRM. Import/export of goods also in place, as well as unloading items from Yandex.Market . Okay, but... For some reason, the usual options in this niche for setting up a live chat and a button for ordering a call back are not available in UMI. It's a pity. For commercial sites this is a very important functionality. An obvious shortcoming in the must-have functionality segment.

Now about domains. Immediately after registration, your site will be given a technical subdomain like site-7778899.umi.ru. It will serve you well during your free 15-day trial. After that, if you do not change it to your domain, it will take the form yoursite.umi.ru.

Domain registration available directly from the admin panel and will cost from 600 rubles/year. You can also attach a domain from a third-party registrar by playing a little with the NS server settings. But all this is available only on paid UMI plans. Free accounts in the system live on subdomains.

With a one-time payment of any tariff for a period of 3 months or more, you will be given a domain in the zone.рф or.ru to choose from. You can register it directly from the control panel.

What do we have as a result? UMI functionality is designed to create store, but for some reason some important features for this type of site are missing. Laziness of developers? Who knows. Competitors have a rosier picture. Yumi is clearly not suitable as a universal tool for creating all types of commercial websites. Gaps in working with templates, there is no order for a call back and no consultant. There is no timer either. Still, the store can turn out to be quite good: it will be convenient to manage, sell well, keep statistics, and so on. The shortcomings with design customization are not particularly visible here, as long as the shelves are not empty. In general, it is he who pulls out 1C-UMI, but clearly not in the TOP. A B minus for everything.

Designs and working with templates

Built-in designs for websites in UMI are made using average level . There are a lot of them (about 600 options), most of them look neat, some even look great, but many are of the same type and rustic. All templates divided into 4 categories: website of a specialist, company, landing page, online store. The specimens from the last 2 categories look the most decent. They are more modern and interesting. It is noticeable that most of them were added later than the business card designs. The very fact that there are updates is encouraging. Landing pages look the most technologically advanced , but still they do not reach the level of visual quality of the solutions presented on competitive platforms. Although you can find an excellent template in any category by going through several options. So no problem.

Choosing a template type , you also decide on the type of future site. So take this factor into account. All templates in categories are divided into many topics: adaptive, sports, business, education, etc. There are many topics. It's a little disappointing that in this era mobile devices the number of adaptive instances is significantly less than those with a fixed size.

Before choosing a design, you can use the preview mode. True, it is not particularly informative: a half-screen screenshot is clearly not enough to get a complete picture of the quality of the template and choose without regretting it later. Although later you you can change the design to any other from the same category. But, you must admit, sorting through a dozen options in this way for the sake of being able to view them in full form is not very practical. The presence of a full-fledged demo mode for previewing UMI would not spoil it.

Note that all templates are filled with something unique for each of them. demo content , which makes me happy. By editing it a little, you can get some part of the project ready. Comfortable. If you decide to change the template during your work, the system will not prevent you from doing so.

A huge fly in the ointment of the design part of the system is the almost complete lack of opportunities to customize templates. You can't even change the background without editing the CSS. We believe that there is no point in continuing the list of shortcomings in this direction after such a statement.

In general, the situation with UMI templates cannot be called poor, but the site builder clearly has room to grow in this regard. Developers will have to try to make the system look at least as good as its closest competitors in this parameter.

Let's summarize. Minuses: a relatively small percentage of adaptive copies, an uninformative preview mode, the simplicity and uniformity of a good half of the design solutions, the lack of options to customize stock designs for yourself. Pros: a large number of templates and themes, the presence of demo content, a breakdown of designs into the types of sites for which they are designed, the ability to edit CSS. The overall rating follows from comparison with competitors - three. Not bad, there is plenty to choose from, but what was taken away did not produce a wow effect, and, in fact, nothing can be configured.

Pricing policy 1C-UMI (prices for tariffs)

In this regard, UMI is not doing well. Fares are shown in “from” format and not as actual prices. For example, a specialist’s website (business card) will cost you from 136 rub/month . It seems inexpensive, hurray! But there is a nuance: this price tag works when paying for engine services 3 years ahead! And so with all tariffs. It is unlikely that most users, having barely touched the designer, will rush to pay for it immediately in three years. After registration you get 15 days to test the selected type of site with full set possibilities of a paid tariff. After this period ends, the settings will drop to the minimum, and the restrictions of the corresponding free tariff will appear.

The service provides the opportunity to buy the site forever, but you will have to purchase a license for UMI.CMS, which costs from 22,900 to 79,900 depending on the type of build and, accordingly, the level of capabilities. By purchasing a site, you get the opportunity to move to your own hosting. Although there is one “but” here: not all modules of the designer’s store are compatible with those in the CMS. That is, migration will require additional financial/time costs for completing the templates/modules of the designer for the CMS environment. You will also need hosting, for which you will have to start paying. Not very profitable. Instead of convenience, you get knots and hitches. It’s better then to start working on a CMS right away than to find yourself in it as a “reward” for buying out the site and having to work on/pay for the developers’ gaps.

You can pay for the engine per month , every 3 months either for year straightaway. The shorter the payment period, the higher the cost (the difference between the monthly and annual payment in annual terms is about 50%). It may be more convenient for some to pay in small portions, but in the end it will be more expensive. As always, we will show the annual price tags for each tariff:

  1. Specialist website - 330 rubles/month or 2640 rubles/year, give 4 GB of space;
  2. Landing - 550 rub/month or 3840 rub/year and the same 4 GB of space;
  3. The site of the company (business card with a small catalog of products with reduced settings) - 550 rubles/month or 4800 rubles/year and 4 GB of space;
  4. Online store - 1100 RUR/month or 9900 RUR/year, get 10 GB of disk space. Paying for the tariff gives access to the full functionality of UMI.

The developers, with their pricing policy, seem to be pushing users towards a 3-year payment or redemption, without advertising the real annual tariff prices. It's somehow opaque and intrusive. Be careful when paying.

We especially note the possibility tariff changes any time. You don't even have to pay the full price of the more expensive offer. Your account will be recalculated, and you will receive new functionality for as long as there are enough funds in your account. You can pay extra later, of course. It is simply not necessary to prepare the entire cost of the new tariff for the selected period - this is the essence of the convenience of the approach.

Prices are generally average, but this particular store is expensive. Still, it is far from ideal. There are cheaper ones, but there are also more expensive options. In addition to paid tariffs, UMI also provides 4 free tariff plans of the same name. All of them involve receiving 100 MB of disk space and the complete impossibility of attaching your own domain. In other words, they are superfluous and are only suitable for familiarizing yourself with the capabilities of the system. Although for the latter, a 15-day trial, in which full functionality is available, is quite enough. In general, the situation with prices in Yumi is very confusing; we recommend that you read the price list carefully.

Optimization (SEO) and promotion

In this regard, 1C-UMI looks like a pretty strong player . It’s not enough to create a website, you also need to promote it. And we have every reason to believe that even inexperienced users of this system will be able to achieve what they want.

It is clear that sites created in the system are promoted according to the same laws as any others: filling out meta tags, headings, creating unique content, possibly contextual advertising, integration with social networks, etc. There is nothing new here. You can stand out in another way - by creating convenient conditions for promotion. Especially for beginners who do not really understand the meaning of analytical systems indicators, the nuances of assembly semantic core and other things.

In 1C-UMI these conditions have been created. There is a separate section here "Advertising/SEO" . Its core is integration with the popular SEOPult promotion service. You can directly from the admin panel select keywords for your site, download them from a file or add them manually. You can also view detailed reports on positions (if this is not enough, nothing will prevent you from integrating Google/Yandex statistical tools), view financial statistics on current advertising campaigns and important messages on this topic. If you do not understand any of the above, then the well-written instructions, which you will find here, will help you. Everything will be sorted out, one way or another. And it pleases. The system looks friendly in this regard.

Among other things, you will be able to confirm ownership of the site, edit robots.txt, set up redirects if necessary, and install any counters. Of course, you can connect commenting via VKontakte and Facebook.

In our opinion, 1C-UMI contains sufficient set of tools for effective promotion of stores. Work with the system and you will succeed. The conditions have been created.

Advantages and disadvantages

The system, for all its tangible advantages, feels frankly crude. You can use it and achieve results, but it lacks optimization, visual advancement and some obvious features.

pros

  • Store functionality with nice bonuses in the form of synchronization with 1C: Trade Management. Yes, it’s paid, but it’s available, which is rare;
  • Big choice templates in which you can edit styles via CSS;
  • Nice tools for advancement;
  • Simplicity of the control panel and overall decent level of functionality;
  • Cheapness of creating a business card;
  • Good technical support and the presence of a high-quality “FAQ?” section;

Examples of sites created in UMI

We have selected several samples of ready-made websites created in UMI by the users themselves. The goal was not to discredit or advertise the platform. We took decent copies by the standards of the engine, available for viewing on the official website of the platform. All of them are hosted on subdomains, probably created by the developers themselves and are, rather, for informational purposes only. But they should be enough to get an idea of the capabilities of the system.

Alternatives and competitors

When evaluating UMI based on the efficiency of creating stores, competitors are very easy to find. This is definitely not the most powerful and convenient constructor. In terms of business cards and landing pages, things are even worse: the carriage and the small cart of services cope with this task much better. They are more convenient, in some places cheaper, contain more useful profile features, etc. UMI is not a platform that is difficult to find an alternative to. There is only one trump card - friendship with 1C out of the box. And even then it’s paid.

Main competing services:

– a much more powerful store builder. There is even the possibility of synchronization with 1C out of the box, not to mention friendship with Yandex.Market, AliExpress and others trading platforms. The SEO module is noticeably more advanced, with more settings for security, payment, delivery and everything else. Real-time sales monitoring. The quality of premium templates is noticeably higher. Better suited for team store administration. There are many benefits.

– competes with Yumi in terms of creating business cards and landing pages. A much more convenient visual editor, the templates are all adaptive without exception. A more cost effective option for the price. The speed of launching the site is the same. More responsive interface high speed loading pages, good optimization and opportunities for advancement. The picture is completed by responsive technical support and regularly held promotions with discounts.

– a more flexible CMS-based designer. It has a modular structure, allows you to add scripts and plugins, expanding functionality. Out of the box it is much more powerful than UMI. Allows you to more flexibly customize your storefront and work with a large volume of goods. Withstands large influxes of traffic without subsidence, sites work quickly, as does the control panel. The page editor is more convenient, the templates are better.

UMI has nothing to compete with its competitors. Even synchronization with 1C does not pull it out of the hole: it is paid and is not only available here. For any possible use case (business card, landing page, store), it is easy to find a competing service that is cheaper and better in every sense. Yumi feels like a good, but morally outdated product. This can be seen both in the templates and in the set of capabilities. In its current form there is nothing to choose for it.

1C-YUMI calls double sensations . On the one hand, the efforts of the developers are visible and well implemented. But only partially. On the other hand, the designer feels raw and the interface is outdated. Although the design of the admin panel is nice, simple, and we don’t choose a working tool for the sake of special effects. On the other hand, there are problems with functionality. Lack of obvious opportunities. We cannot forgive such omissions.

Strange pricing policy, weak visual editor, average templates with virtually no customization options, lack of some important functions for the store and versatility as such. There are many shortcomings. But the possibilities promotion pleased. For many, this can be a decisive factor in their choice.

Websites created in UMI look good , but there are not enough stars from the sky. Middle peasants. Fortunately, for a store, the quality of design is not the most important component of success. But the convenience of the shopping cart/display window/catalog plus navigation are factors that directly affect sales. And Yumi can provide all this. But the same cannot be said about landing pages and business cards. This also requires design. Preferably beautiful and unique. One that in UMI can only be achieved by editing CSS. But not everyone can do this. Most will use the standard templates as is.

The engine has potential , but only if the developers focus on smart updates. There should be enough resources. It would also not hurt to rethink Yumi’s positioning and refresh the interface. Competitors are not asleep, and against their background the hero of the review lags behind in some parameters, and with a devastating score. Although in some ways it is ahead. The price is competitive only in the business card creation niche.

In terms of convenience, it is comparable to its closest competitors. Simple? Yes. Functional? In some places. Modern? Not yet. Perhaps Umisoft’s partnership with 1C will inject fresh blood into the project. Still, the main product of the company was and remains a CMS, and the designer was created for those who are not ready to delve into a relatively complex system, but need a decent website that will be convenient to promote. It’s noticeable that the developers took a rest on it, skipping a lot.

Does it make sense to use UMI? We believe not, given the quality and cost of competitors' offerings. You can get acquainted, 15 days of trial allow you to do this. If you want to stay, it's your business, your money. In our opinion, for any type of site proposed for creation in Yumi, there is a much stronger analogue. This is what confuses me. An ordinary average guy with untapped potential. Let's get acquainted and move to where it's better.
