StoryGoogle began in 1996 as a research project by two Stanford students - Larry Page And Sergei Brin. Colleagues and friends at that moment were working on the SDPL project - the Stanford Digital Library. They developed the most convenient, universal digital library, which was supposed to be unified.

The official history of Google as a company began September 4, 1998, when Page and Brin officially registered their creation in their friend Susan Wojcicki's garage in California.

Brief background

For 2 years from the start of joint activities at Stanford and before Google registration Inc. Larry and Sergey have done a lot of work in the IT industry. One more search engine was not enough, a breakthrough was needed, and friends did it.

In 1996, Larry Page was choosing a topic for his dissertation. His choice, on the advice of Professor Terry Winograd, fell on the clarification and structuring of influence external links to one resource or another. This became the prototype of Page Rank (PR), one of the factors thanks to which Google gained leadership in its field.

BackRub

After Larry decided on a topic for his dissertation, he began a scientific project that went down in history as BackRub. It was at this moment that Sergey Brin joined him.

Page Rank

In March 1996, for the first time since home page Larry at Stanford, a search robot began indexing pages of the World Wide Web.

In order to better display the results of this indexing, friends developed an algorithm Page Rank, which took into account the authority of the page under study based on the number and quality of external hyperlinks to it from other pages.

The beginning of a unique search engine

Realizing that they were getting better results than other search engines thanks to their algorithm, Page and Brin actually made a revolution in the history of search engines. This is what gave birth to Google, a world-famous company.

At the beginning of its work, the Google search engine was located on the Stanford University website at - google.stanford.edu

Domain name google. com was registered September 15, 1997. "Googol" is a number equal to one followed by one hundred zeros.

Attitude to advertising

Colleagues did not want to turn their brainchild into a billboard with all sorts of pop-up windows and graphic advertising banners. They even wrote a scientific paper on this topic in 1998.

Until now, Google's interface is the most simple and “easy”, allowing it to load faster in the user's browser. From advertising in search results you can find on this moment only text advertisements (contextual advertising based on keywords), which first appeared on the search engine in 2000.

The beginning of the history of Google Inc.

Having received the first funding from Andy Bechtolsteim at the rate of $100,000, Larry Page and Sergey Brin officially registered Google Inc. – the history of the beginning of the number 1 search engine in the world began on September 4, 1998 and continues to this day.

By the end of that year, Google's crawler had indexed more than 60 million pages on the Internet. Its advantage over analogues has become generally recognized. At the peak "dot-com bubble" In the stock market, Google already had a huge lead over its competitors, being a private company.

Sales attempt

In 1999, Larry and Sergei realized that the company had so absorbed them that it was clearly interfering with their studies at the university. It was decided to sell to Google for 1 million dollars. The offer was made George Bell, who runs Excite, but he backed out of the deal.

Public IPO of Google Inc.

One of the significant days in the history of Goggle Inc. became August 19, 2004, when the company entered the NASDAQ stock exchange and became public.

Google offered investors 19,605,052 shares at a price of $85 per share. The shares were sold through an online auction of a unique format, organized by the banks that underwrote the transaction. Morgan Stanley And Credit Suisse.

IPO proceeds of $1.67 billion meant Google's market capitalization was more than $23 billion. The vast majority of the shares remained in the company's control, and many of its employees instantly became millionaire stockholders. Yahoo!, a Google competitor, also benefited because it owned 8.4 million. Google shares before the IPO. As of February 2014, the corporation's capitalization amounted to over 400 billion dollars!

In addition to being sold on the American market (NASDAQ stock exchange) under the ticker GOOG, the corporation is sold on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and has the ticker GGQ1 there.

Reorganization at Alphabet

After the Google Reorganization Alphabet in October 2015, all shares of the first were converted into shares of the second. They continue to trade on NASDAQ as GOOGL and GOOG ( class A- GOOGL, - with one vote, and class C- GOOG, - no voting rights).

Owners

There are also promotions class B, giving their owners 10 votes. The only holders of this class of shares are Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, as well as the former CEO of the company Eric Schmidt.

Google services and acquisitions

Over its history, Google has acquired many companies, some of which have become the basis of the corporation's modern services. Some of them became Google subsidiaries, and some of them became independent branches.

Here are some of them:

GooglePlanetEarth– a service based on the startup Keyhole, Inc., purchased in 2004, whose product was then called Earth Viewer. The service stores photographs of our planet taken from a satellite.

YouTube– the most popular video hosting and search engine No. 3 in the world, purchased by the corporation in 2006 for $1.65 billion.

GoogleVoice– made on the foundation of the purchased company GrandCentral. The transaction amount, which took place in 2007, was $50 million.

Other popular services and products

Among Google's many developments, the most popular are Gmail(Post service), Google Maps(the most recognized integrated application is Google Maps), GoogleDocs(a worthy cloud replacement office programs from ), browser GoogleChrome with a wonderful bookmark synchronization function, operating system Android for smartphones and many others.

Partnerships and sponsorships

In addition to its own developments and acquisitions of companies for its own needs, Google’s management is always open to cooperation and even sponsorship with other companies in a variety of fields of science and production: ecology, space exploration, medicine, IT, automobile production (), smartphones, etc.

Today, Google, under the wing of Alphabet, is one of the leading companies in the IT industry. History of Google continues and there may be many more new ones ahead of us useful services and products of this company.

Which Google products and services do you like best and why? Write about it in the comments below. If you liked this article, share it on social media. networks with your friends and subscribers.

    • Android operating system for mobile devices.
    • Google Play is an application server for Android systems.
    • Gmail is an email client.
    • GoogleDrive – cloud storage.
    • Picassa is a photo editing platform.
    • Blogger is a platform for creating blogs.

The concern, which is currently called Alphabet, includes the following companies:

    • Google Inc. – Internet services, applications, gadgets, etc.
    • Google Fiber is a broadband Internet access provider.
    • NestLabs – smart homes and housing technologies.
    • Calico is a life extension program.

    • Google Capital is an investment company.
    • Google Venture is a venture fund.
    • Google X is a software developer.
    • Google Verily is a health research center.

In 2014, Google officially became part of Alphabet Inc., which united under its leadership other assets managed by the same founders. The consolidation of all services, projects and subsidiaries was carried out for transformation and convenience in management, as well as to minimize the possibility of a raider takeover. As of the end of 2016, Alphabet became the most valuable company in the world. The company's market capitalization has exceeded half a trillion dollars. CEO of Alphabet Inc. Sundar Pichai was appointed. Sergey Brin and Larry Page retained their rights as CEOs of the conglomerate and own the majority of the company's shares.

Google/Alphabet shares

By mid-2007, the price of Google shares increased from 85 to $300, in 2013 the price was already more than $500, and at the current moment in early 2017, the mark of $850 per share was reached, which is ten times more than the initial value 13 years ago.

Since the reorganization of Alphabet, new shares have been introduced to the exchange, which can be viewed using the ticker GOOG. Legacy shares under the ticker GOOGL are also available on the exchange. Both types of shares are traded on the NASDAQ exchange. There are currently 515,912,000 shares outstanding.

After the introduction of the ALPHABET concern and the structural reorganization, several types of shares were introduced into the company.

  • The first type - shares that are traded under the ticker GOOGL, are standard securities that provide voting rights to its holder and receive standard dividend payments. These shares are referred to as type A.
  • Type C shares are always a little cheaper because they are purely speculative and do not provide any voting power to their holders. They are also publicly traded and trade under the new ticker symbol GOOG. The company rewards its employees with such shares, gives them as gifts to partners, and is used as a payment instrument when acquiring startups.
  • There is also a third type of shares, which is designated type B. They are not listed on the stock exchange and there are an order of magnitude fewer of them than type A and C shares combined - only 52 million type B shares are issued. However, these shares have the same weight and even slightly more, like the total share of all A and C, since they are equal to 10 votes. Shares of this type are concentrated in the hands of the founders Brin and Page in predominant quantities, as well as certain shares in some friends and partners, including Schmidt and Pichai.

Such division of shares is protection against raider takeover and transfer of the controlling stake into the hands of one shareholder or group of shareholders. Thus, Page and Brin retained more than 60% ownership of the company, as well as decisive voting rights in all projects.

If some large investor begins to buy shares of type A, then even after completing what he started to the end, he will not be able to compete with shareholders who own securities of type C.

In general, A and C shares are fairly similar, especially for speculative purposes. Both options have high liquidity with daily volume of just over 2 million shares and average earnings per share of $28. That is why most speculators prefer to purchase new shares of type C. They have the same properties, are quite liquid and at the same time cost a few dollars less.

Benefits of Google Stock

Investors around the world continue to buy and invest in the company, because the directors and CEO have proven in practice that they know how to manage such a corporation and know where they are going. Since the company entered the stock exchange, the price for shares has not fallen below the initial level, and there have been no significant drops in value. At the same time, quotes continue to grow every year.

Taking into account the thoughtfulness and caution of the company's owners, one can be confident in eliminating the possibility of takeovers or other problems in the company's administration. Active sponsorship of programmers and startups, as well as the constant implementation of new projects ensures constant growth in the company's profits.

Even though the shares Google already are worth 10 times more than since the IPO, investors and analysts believe that the value will continue to grow and long-term investments in the company are in any case the right decision.

How to buy Google shares?

To purchase Google shares, you need to open a brokerage account with a company that provides brokerage - access to a limited list of shares of American markets. There are many brokers in the Russian Federation that have this functionality. You can also open an account with an American brokerage company and buy shares directly on the NASDAQ exchange.

In any case, you should understand that opening an account is a very long and routine procedure, especially in foreign companies. You will need to prepare and provide a lot of documents. You also need to understand that purchasing Google shares will require an impressive amount of funds, given the high price of the shares.

Hello friends. This is our everything - search engines. Just twenty years ago, the phrases “Google”, “Google can help you” or “search in Yandex” could puzzle any person, but now even small children understand them. Here is the story of the creation of Yandex and Google, the most popular search engines that make our lives easier every day and bring billions to their creators.

The history of Google

Google first appeared in America, namely on the territory of Stanford University, where its founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page met. Their meeting was completely accidental. Larry, along with other students, simply came on an excursion to Stanford University, and his guide turned out to be Sergey Brin. They both had Jewish roots, but unlike Larry, who was Native American, Sergei was from Russia. He moved to America when he was still a schoolboy. Later, a chance meeting and the ensuing conversation grew into a strong friendship.

The idea of creating a good search system came to the guys about a year after they met, when two young graduate students decided to surprise their teachers. They created search engine called "PageRank". People quickly fell in love with it, surprising them with its quality of information search. It became much easier to find it; in other search engines, the first links to appear were those that contained more keywords, that is, the search for information was carried out by the number of similar words in the text, but the meaning was very lame. When creating his search engine, Larry took the works of scientists as a model. The scheme was as follows - the better the robot was, the more people referred to this scientist. The search engine worked the same way: the better the information, the higher it rose among the links.

Why is Google Google?

In order for the system to work, all that remains is to choose a name. It had to be short and interesting. The creators considered more than fifty names, but after careful selection, Brin and Page finally settled on the term “googol,” which means one to the hundredth power. Thus, already in 1997, students and teachers at Stanford University were able to evaluate all the advantages and disadvantages of the new creation.

Design

Many users fell in love with the search engine precisely because of the simplicity of its design. As it turned out, colored letters on a white background were not the original idea of brilliant programmers. That was all Larry and Sergey had enough money for, let alone hiring designers. They, as they say, did everything “simple and tastefully.”

Heyday

1998 was a turning point in the development of Google. It was then that Google Inc was registered, the first office was rented (in fact, it was an ordinary garage), the first employees were hired and the first check was received from investor - millionaire Andy Bechtolstein for 100 thousand dollars. And then Google moves from office to office, signs a contract with another major American corporation, conquers Sydney and South America and acquires the Blogger publishing service in the USA. The second most important year was 2004, when the stock market saw shares of a successful company for the first time, and its founders became billionaires.

Development

Every year, Google is actively developing and coming up with new services and developments. So, the most popular today are Google+social network, which was created not so long ago in 2011, so that people could communicate via the Internet.

  • Google Docs is a service where you can store text documents, various presentations and tables.
  • Google Drive is a service for storing private information. Each person can store up to 15GB of information and access it from anywhere in the world.
  • Gmail – email.
  • Maps – geographical maps. They are convenient because you can calculate the route based on mileage and time.
  • Play is a gaming application store.
  • Picasa is a service for working with applications.
  • News – a collection of news from around the world. They are formed from publication titles and are displayed depending on the user's preferences.
  • Google has also created its own personal Google browser Chrome, which is one of the most convenient and frequently used browsers in the world today.

History of the creation of Yandex

Arkady Volozh - founder of Yandex

Yandex appeared in Russia on September 23, 1997. One of its founders was Russian programmer Arkady Volozh. He wanted to create a system that would be able to find information in large volumes, and, importantly, would take into account the morphology of the language. But this was still far away, and Volozh, together with his teacher, in English in 1989 he created the company CompTek, which sold computers. In the same year, Arkady persistently continued to achieve his goal, therefore, together with another friend Arkady Borkovsky, he created the Arcadia company for the development of search and information systems. In 1993 the two companies merged. At the same time, a program was created to search on a computer’s hard drive.

The mystery of the name

The program needed to be called something, but a suitable name could not be found. We also considered the option of the name “Search”, but since we wanted to show that the system was developed in Russia, it was necessary to introduce an element of the Russian language, and the word search was not understandable to Russian people. The word “Yandex” was suggested by Volozh’s school friend Ilya Segalovich, who later became director of technology. He thought that the word “index” was more in harmony with the Russian language, but since the system was not the first in Russia, the phrase “ yet another index" (another indexer). As a result, “Yandex” appeared, and it was decided to replace the first “Ya” with the Russian “Ya”.

Development

In the same year, 1993, the first search dictionary was created, which, as Volozh wanted, took into account the morphology of the Russian language. And the very next year the “Bible Computer Reference Book” was created.

In 1995, they decided to launch the search system on the Internet, but initially it worked only with selected resources, and later with all Russian-speaking ones. The turning point and official birthday of Yandex is considered to be September 23, 1997, when the search engine was first exhibited at the Softool exhibition.

At the time when Yandex appeared on the Internet, it was not the only search engine. Many preferred the same Rambler or Altavista, which was the most popular search engine in Russia at that time. But Yandex was rapidly gaining momentum, and by mid-1999, Yandex brought the owners about 72 thousand dollars. In 2000, the RuNetHolding company invested good money in Yandex, but still had to sell some of the shares. It was then that Yandex became a separate company, with its own structure, budget and management. Arkady Volozh became the CEO of Yandex.

In the same year, Yandex expanded its capabilities: Yandex bookmarks, Yandex.mail, and Postcards appeared. The company's staff has also increased. Another significant advance was the emergence of Yandex Bar - specialized software.

All this influenced the fact that already next year Yandex became number one in terms of traffic on the Runet. Yandex continued to develop. Yandex Pictures and Yandex Money appeared. With each subsequent year, Yandex only actively developed and expanded its staff.

Design

Initially, Yandex's design was as simple as Google's. On the main page the name of the search engine was written, as well as examples of queries and a couple of hot news. The design was finalized in several stages. So the second stage was in 1999. Then design home page Yandex has already become a close associate and even looks like the real one. The categories were improved, and windows with mail, advertising, forums, etc. appeared. In 2001, the Yandex main page was improved and was already approaching today's version. The final version of the changes to the main page was the 2003 version, after which the design did not change radically, but was only refined in places.

Thus, Google and Yandex have gone through a short, but very actively developing path of formation. None of the search engines today stands still and every day they develop more and more new services to make life easier. These are the world's leading search engines, processing millions of queries every day. Many people can no longer imagine their lives without these lifesavers - they have become such commonplace things.

Rusbase invites readers to take a look at the story of two Stanford students - Larry Page and Sergey Brin - who together created a website that changed the world.

Hot-tempered acquaintance

In the summer of 1995, 22-year-old Larry Page visited Stanford to enroll in graduate school in computer science. His tour guide turned out to be Sergei Brin, a 21-year-old mathematical genius who had already received a graduate degree. Despite common interests, Brin and Page did not like each other the first time - their acquaintance began with heated arguments.

Later, in an interview with Wired magazine, Page admitted that Sergei seemed to him to be a rather hot-tempered person: “He spoke sharply on many topics.”

Brin also felt mutual hostility upon meeting, but drew attention to something else: “The disagreements were not that serious. In fact, we spent a lot of time talking to each other, which was saying something."

What if it's not Google?

Page was accepted into Stanford. By 1996, he and Brin had become best friends and were developing a project called Backrub. The guys wanted to study in detail the process of moving to web pages using links. They soon realized that the best way to improve web search was to help people find the sites they were looking for through an incoming link, as long as it was safe for the user.

Today it is hard to believe that Brin and Page, wanting to successfully complete their graduate studies, were ready to sell their ideas and developments to another company. The guys tried to cooperate with Yahoo!, Infoseek, Lycos, AltaVist, but entered into negotiations only with Excite.

Paige: “There were a lot of offers, but for little money. So we gave up and returned to Stanford to continue our development.”

Where did the name Google come from?

Failed deals prompted Brin and Page to create their own company. The name Backrub was not suitable for such purposes. Starting from Whatbox, they were inspired by the term "googol", which means a number with a hundred zeros.

To make the name easier to remember and type, Page changed several letters. Thus, in 1997, Google.com was born.

The word “google” turned out to be easier to pronounce than “back up” or “votbox”.

How Playboy almost deprived Google of its place on the stock exchange

After Google filed its securities registration documents with the SEC, the law required them to conduct only “normal business activities and provide only financial information” until the commission deemed the filing “effective.” In finance, this condition is called a “waiting period.” His idea is for investors to make stock buying decisions based on bare facts and numbers. If there is no unnecessary and distorted information about the company, then there are no unjustifiably inflated share prices.

However, long before this “lower-water-quieter-grass period,” Brin and Page managed to give an interview to Playboy magazine, the release of which coincided with the time they were waiting for registration. The SEC could well consider the interview a violation of the conditions, could withdraw the application for publicity and deny the IPO. In order to be on the safe side and not conflict with SEC rules, Google sent them a prospectus with an attachment full version Playboy interview.

The Playboy article was not controversial, but served interesting material, like most articles with a photo on the cover.

Disregarding the wisdom of Steve Jobs

Both before and after its IPO, Google had the desire and ability to expand as needed. Expansion attempts included launching Gmail, creating Google Maps, digitizing books, purchasing operating system Android and YouTube. In 2011, the company launched Google+. Of course, some projects were more successful, others less.

Page had to argue with Steve Jobs, who believed that Google was grabbing at everything. Brin answered in this regard: “We invest in all companies that are potentially profitable for us. I understand that this is risky, you can miscalculate a thousand times, because only some of the projects pay off. But the more bets, the greater the chances.”

Second face of Sergei Brin - Batman

Today, Brin and Page's collaboration continues to go from strength to strength. In 2011, Page became the company's CEO. However, the company's co-founders unanimously decided to remain "under the wing" of the head of the board of directors, Eric Schmidt.

As for Brin, he enjoys overseeing special projects at Google X, a top-secret research laboratory. Like Batman, he sits in the latest technological stronghold, but only in reality.

Brin has already released Google Glass and is preparing a second version of the glasses. He also hopes to "revolutionize the world's transportation system" with self-driving cars. And like James Bond, another character in love with technology, Brin is caught in his own love triangle. In 2013, he was forced to separate from his wife Anne Wojcicki due to an affair with Google Glass marketer Amanda Rosenberg.

The future of Google: robots and artificial intelligence

Despite all the achievements, Page and Brin still want to create something more. They have invested heavily in artificial intelligence. Brin is confident that one day they will be able to create intelligent machines that will think and act better than humans.

Based on the success of the company's previous moves, people may need to be prepared for the coming of Google's robot overlords.

Google, Yandex, mail.ru, rambler - search engines without which we cannot imagine ours. According to 2014 data, the most popular search engine in Russia is Yandex, slightly inferior to Google in popularity, followed by mail.ru, rambler and bing with a large lag.

But in Ukraine and Belarus, Google takes an honorable first place, as in the rest of the world, where it accounts for 68% of the market, followed by Baidu, Yahoo, Yandex, Bing, AOL, ASK with a large lag.

This article will talk about Google and the history of its creation. Google is also notable for the fact that our former compatriot, now living in the United States of America, Sergey Brin, took part in its creation. The search engine dates back to 1997.

So, 17 years of work, whether this is a lot or a little, considering that the development of this search system began from a small garage, and subsequently made the creators billionaires and by 2003 it became famous all over the world, is probably not much.

So, Google was created by Sergey Brin and Lawrence Page. By creating this search system, Sergey and Lawrence tried to fulfill their dream of systematizing all the information available on the network. They met at Stanford University, where they both studied.

They did not immediately like each other, since they were both smart and talented and always got into arguments, but these disputes soon brought them closer and they became good friends. Both have been interested in computers since childhood.

Sergei Brin got his first computer when he was 9 years old. Lawrence Page's father, Carl Page, was a very famous computer scientist at that time, so hardware was his main hobby from childhood.

They tell the story of how little Lawrence assembled a printer from Lego parts. At first Lawrence Page Graduated with honors from the University of Michigan, after which he decided to continue his studies at Stanford, where he met Sergei Brin.

Google founder Sergey Brin.

Biography of Sergei Brin

Sergei Brin was born in the Soviet Union in 1973, and in 1979 Sergei moved to live with his family in the United States, which was possible due to his family's Jewish roots.

It must be said that Sergei subsequently thanked his father more than once for moving his family to the USA, even when, as an adult, he visited Russia, it did not make a good impression on him, so his childhood fears and desire remained in him throw stones at a police car.

Sergei Brin's parents were from a scientific background; they graduated from Moscow University, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics.

Sergei's father, a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, became a teacher at the University of Maryland in the USA, where he later became an honorary professor. Sergei’s mother in the USA worked for NASA as a climate specialist.

University of Maryland and Sergei graduated early, and then entered Stanford University. The idea of automatically searching for information on the Internet came to Sergei a long time ago.

At Stanford he created a program for automatic search on the Internet of photographs of models from Playboy magazine, the students really liked this program, but Sergei soon had to remove it, as they say, his girlfriend did not like it.

Since 1995, Brin and Page have been working together to create a completely new search program for the Internet.

The principle of its operation is that the more visits a site has and links to it, the more complete information it contains and is ranked higher by the search engine than others.

So Page and Brin begin work on their brainchild, which will later become the most popular search engine in the world.

In the meantime, their project is partially financed by the university, and Sergey and Lawrence themselves find part of the money for the development of their project.

Page turned his dorm room into the location of a huge server on which he studied. And Brin sets up something like an office in his room and starts promoting his system.

Young people patented their system. There were attempts to sell the work, however, no one believed that a search engine could bring in huge amounts of money.

By the way, George Bell, the same one who did not advise young people to develop their search site, and soon went bankrupt to start an email site. The project was enthusiastically received by university students.

Gradually, the project acquired its name Google, this is an imprecise spelling of the word googol, which in mathematics means ten to the hundredth power. With this word, the creators wanted to reflect what a huge amount of information their system can structure.

Thanks to their project, Page and Brin get the opportunity to teach at Stanford, they began giving lectures there in 1998, in which they talked about how to analyze and search data on the Internet.

The university management did not like the fact that Sergei and Lawrence's search engine was eating up half of its traffic, and Brin and Page decided to leave the university and open their own company.

The only question was money. Andy Bechtolsteim, founder of Sun Microsystems and Granite Systems, gives them 100 thousand dollars. Brin and Page leave Stanford and settle in a garage in Menlo Park, California.

Now Google has its own Domain name google.com and registered by Google Inc.

Soon the garage became insufficient, new employees and, more importantly, new investments. Google first moves to premises in Palo Alto, and Mike Moritz and John Derr (representatives of large investors who previously worked with Amazon and Yahoo!) appear on the board of directors.

And after a while Google time begins construction of its own Googleplex building.

In 2000, Google expanded beyond the United States. Their clients include British, Italian, Korean, Chinese, and South American portals.

Google already has branches in Tokyo and Hamburg. Sergey Brin is actively involved in the creation of the Russified version.

He speaks excellent Russian and even gives interviews to Russian journalists in his native language. Being one of the presidents of the company, he is mainly involved in organizational matters.

Google employees have the right to engage in scientific activities, in the offices they always have free drinks, tea and coffee, as well as an excellent canteen.

They are also entitled to a portion of the company's shares. The more Google grew, the more privacy issues it encountered.

So, when creating Google Earth, the program included an image of the roof of the White House, which could have harmed its safety. There were also private lawsuits.

Thus, some home owners did not like the fact that they were on display for everyone to see in all their detail. Google program Street View.

In 2013, the well-known Edward Snowden said that the American government received confidential information about users through Google, Yahoo and Facebook.

However, the company’s lawyer, David Damond, explained this by saying that the information did not give the American government direct access to users’ personal data.

Google is a dynamically developing company; in 2010, it became available to Russian users voice search. In 2013, the Google Glass project was demonstrated.

These are glasses that allow you to access the Internet, carry out mobile communications and shoot video in high resolution. Google Glass has also caused a lot of controversy, and its use is prohibited in some public places.

Google is so popular that a new verb has appeared - to google, which means to search for something on the Internet.

However, the creators of the brand themselves are against applying this word to all information, but only when using Google search engine. And this word appeared with the light hand of Page himself.

Google is a global brand with many applications and services such as YouTube, Google AdSense,Google Analytics.

  • “Russia is Nigeria in the snow. Do you really like the idea of a bunch of crazy cowboys controlling the world's energy supply?"
  • “Thank you to my father for taking us out of this country.”

However, later, in his defense, he said that these statements were due to drinking too much wine.
