Hola is a browser extension with which you can use a free VPN service. The Hola extension provides access to sites with multimedia content (video and audio), as well as to those sites for which access has been limited at the regional or national level for some reason.

Using technologies that have the general name VPN (Virtual Private Network), secure network connections over another network (Internet). Thanks to using a VPN, you can change your real IP address to another one in order to gain access to sites that are inaccessible in your country or region.

The principle of the service: to make not only websites and media services accessible, but also to speed up the loading of pages and content (this functionality is not supported on Mac OS X). When using Hola, traffic is encrypted and caching is used.

Data is cached on other users' computers in order to speed up connections and data transfer over the network. Therefore, when using this technology, the more Hola users in your region, with the extension enabled, the faster the Internet connection will be on your computer.

On this moment, Hola is used by more than 45 million users worldwide on their computers.

The following browsers are supported in Hola: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer. The extension can also be installed in the browsers Opera, Yandex.Browser, Amigo and some others. The application is available for supported browsers in operating systems Windows systems, Android, iOS, Mac OS X.

The Hola extension is installed in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera browsers, and for Internet browser Explorer installs the Hola program (thus, third-party applications are integrated into this browser).

hola download

From the page of the hola.org service, created by Israeli developers, you can download this extension to your browser. The extension can also be installed in your browser from the stores of the corresponding browsers, where you can enter from the browser settings.

Hola extension

For Google browser Chrome, the extension in the Chrome store is called "Better Internet with Hola". Pay attention to the number of users of this extension.

After installing the extension in the browser, the service page will open with popular sites that have become available for viewing. If you hover your mouse over, for example, an image of the Pandora website, which is only available to US users, an image of an open lock will appear.

After clicking on the lock, this site will open, and you can make sure that the Pandora music service has become available to you, although you are not physically in the United States, or even on the other side of the ocean. In this case, Hola independently selected servers located in the USA to access this site.

The extension window will display the flag of the country from whose IP address you entered the blocked site. In this case, a radio streaming service from the USA was viewed.

A pop-up window asks you, “Did it work?” Click on the “Oh, yes!” button if this resource on the Internet has become available to you. If the blocking has not been removed, then in this case, click on the “No, fix it” button. Then the Hola app will try to find you another option.

In the extension window, you can independently select the desired country from which IP address you will need to log in to this or that site.

The extension icon will be located on the browser panel. To perform the necessary actions, you can click on the Hola extension icon.

In the extension settings, which will open after clicking on the “Menu” button, in the “VPN” tab on the Hola service page, sites will be marked to enter which services of some kind will be used specific country. You can delete, if necessary, these entries in the "trash".

The VPN extension for google chrome is a great opportunity to remove all restrictions on viewing websites. There are various plugins that allow you to change your virtual location and bypass blocking. Today we will talk about one excellent extension that not only allows you to seamlessly “fly” on the Internet, but also has a lot of additional advantages.

Hola VPN

Hola is an extension for the Chrome browser and for other browsers that were created on its basis. This plugin allows users to access the network using virtual network, with which you can not only easily browse any sites, but also hide your own geographic location. It is no coincidence that VPN plugins are often called anonymizers.

Hola works very simply: it replaces the user's real IP with a virtual one selected at random. So, a user from Moscow or Ryazan may have an American or Singaporean IP. For the blocker, this is a signal that users from a given country are not prohibited from visiting any site, and the supervisory algorithm does not interfere with the free browsing of the Internet page.

Advantages of the Hola plugin

In general, the Hola extension is a non-resource-intensive simple plugin that has a set of functions that make using the extension especially comfortable, these are:

  • a means to change the user’s Internet address (his IP);
  • the ability to virtually send the user to one of the most popular countries in the world;
  • access prohibited pages that are not permitted for viewing in your home country.

All these are standard features of any VPN plugin, you say. But expanding the hall has another amazing opportunity, which we will talk about below.

Another plus of Hola

Any vpn connection It greatly slows down the browser's performance. Experienced users know about this and turn on the VPN “mask” only when visiting unauthorized web resources. But with hola things are different. It turns out that this anonymizer is designed in such a way that it allows you to speed up page loading by hashing the data stream by other intranet computers.

This option allows you to freely use the VPN without being distracted by frozen pages.

How to download hola for chrome

To use this wonderful program, you only need to perform three simple steps:

  • find hola on the official website hola.org
  • download the plugin;
  • install it in chrome.

Let's take a closer look at the first stage. Hola is available on many resources, but it is most reliable to download it from the official website. By the way, you can just type org in the hall search engine without bothering with changing the language. Google, for example, understood everything perfectly:

We follow the link and we are greeted by this joyful page:

After clicking the “install” button, we are asked to make a choice:

We are asked: do you want to become part of the network or prefer not to share your IP address with anyone. How to make the right choice?

The first option is to use hola completely free, and you become a member of a virtual private network. This means that while you are enjoying viewing prohibited sites, your IP can be used by another project participant. The danger here is that you won't be told exactly how your IP was used. It is one thing to visit sites that are prohibited in a given country, and quite another to distribute prohibited photo and video materials, or cyber fraud. These crimes are punished very severely in developed countries, so it’s worth thinking about how to protect your own IP from any crooks.

It turns out that the plugin developers thought about this without you. The second choice concerns those who do not want their Internet address to be used for unknown purposes. By clicking the “I do not want to become a member of the network” button, you automatically close your address from third-party use. True, such security is not free - such a service is available on a prepaid basis and costs about $5 per month.

Download

After selecting an option, the site will offer you to download the program. This happens quite quickly. When the download is complete, the following window will appear:

But you should not click on all the buttons that appear. - so you just download another browser from Chrome, registered for Hola. If you wait just a little, you will be able to install the extension directly in Google Chrome. To do this, just click the button in the window that appears:

By the way, some security programs prohibit the installation of VPN plugins. Therefore, after downloading and checking for viruses, you may need to disable the browser notification system and allow the extension to install.

How to use Hola

A cheerful light that appears on the panel signals that the fire has been established. After clicking on the icon, a window appears in which the user is invited to visit the most popular web resources viewed using hola vpn.

You can take advantage of offers from hola, or you can enter the name of the site you are interested in in the line that opens. After this, the plugin will ask you to select a country from where you can view the web page. First, they will tell you your country of residence (in case you suddenly forget). After that - the most popular country by request, used by VPN providers from your region. The most demanding ones are invited to choose a country from the list.

Memorizing the path

Another interesting feature of this extension is that it remembers the sites that the user visits using Hola. To view the register of visited pages, you can click the horizontal bars at the top, right on the screen of the extension itself (not the browser) and click on settings:

I myself live in Ukraine, therefore many sites and services are not available to me. Therefore, I use VPN, which saves me every time. Initially, I was looking for good app, but I never found it. One day I came across Hola, an extension that I downloaded for the Chrome browser. In principle, it’s a good site, but the work on the regular Internet takes a long time to load. If Wi-Fi is still good, then the Internet does not work. The main advantage is that it is free and you can use it as much as your heart desires. So you can use it, I recommend it.

Hola is a very specific VPN. Unlike classic services, where traffic is redirected through the servers of provider companies, devices of other users are used here. That is, all people who have installed the application (or browser extension) are united in a network and in fact exchange IP addresses and drive traffic through each other.
I didn’t notice any advantages over regular VPNs, but there is a minus - I can’t know exactly who and what will search on the Internet using my data. Accordingly, if desired, they can later “press” me. So using Hola is a certain risk, although someone claims the opposite. But for now, however, everything is working out.
Pros:
1. VPN is free. In fact, I used this criterion when choosing. It works fine, copes with all the tasks of a VPN service, and I don’t have to pay anything.
2. Virtually does not use the computing resources of the device. That is, it doesn’t matter where I’m using – VPN from a phone or VPN from a browser – neither the operating system is overloaded nor the Internet is overloaded. The speed is, however, slightly reduced, but this is normal.
3. Gives access to sites blocked in Russia. Here, no matter what the content, I usually take access to the casino. Everything works smoothly. Access from another country is simulated, where the local provider has not blocked the resource, so the transition to the site is possible. In principle, VPN works, despite the specificity, but I’m still wary.

I use Hola VPN for Chrome. The extension works adequately, there have never been any problems with it. It’s easier and faster to download and install from the official Hola website, because I couldn’t find the service at all in the Chrome Web Store (with Google, the official website comes first when searching). The system, by the way, itself determines which browser is currently in use and installs an extension specifically for it.
There are 2 service options – paid and free. The first one cost $5 per month at the time of download. The free option makes the user part of a network in which participants exchange traffic. The only drawback of this tariff is that the computer is “at the disposal” of another user, which creates certain threats. But no matter how much I used it, everything was OK.
I really like the usability of Hola VPN. Just click on the extension icon in the corner of the browser, and all the functionality is available in a pop-up window. The TOP sites that users visit are immediately given here (for example, my favorite lostfilm). There is also a search window in which we enter the site and select the country of access. By default, 2 options are offered: Russia and the USA (1st – as the user’s country, 2nd – as the most frequently used). Nearby there is a “More” button - there you can select any other available country (UK, Austria, Australia, etc.). You can switch between them freely and without restrictions.
The only thing is that some addresses may not work well, in which case there is nothing you can do except choose another one. But usually access from the US is good. The sites you visit are added to a separate list, with its help you can then safely go to the desired resource automatically via VPN without re-entering the address and manipulating the selection of the country. You can also delete a page from there at any time.

The VPN itself is normal, the extension works fine in the browser, but it is impossible to use via the phone, because... works with errors. For example, it constantly crashes and doesn’t start again, so you have to reboot your smartphone to make it work. Also, small bugs occasionally pop up, for example, when the application is turned on, I can’t log into VK, because... Writes that there is no connection to the Internet. Although in reality either there is wi-fi, or Mobile Internet. In short, it’s better not to use the application from your phone. Moreover, this does not depend on the device itself, because I used 2 different smartphones(both on Android, only different versions), one picture everywhere.
Everything is ok with the browser and extension. I installed it on chrome, without any problems or issues. It has almost no effect on the speed - films costing 1,080 rubles go without long downloads, as usual. The list of countries can be accessed from a bunch of countries in Europe and Asia. I myself usually travel through the states, where access to almost everything is unlimited. Geo-blocked content opens smoothly. In general, the program works excellently through the computer, I’m waiting for the application to be completed.

With the help of this VPN service I can easily bypass blocking of Ukrainian providers. There is access to everything - social networks, Yandex and Mail.ru services. You can select Russia from the list of countries, but I mostly come from other European countries. There were no problems with installation and configuration. I have been using both the application and the browser add-on for a year. Everything works just fine.
The downside is that I didn’t notice the principle of p2p operation at all. This does not affect the speed in any way, even sometimes faster than the page are loading. And at the same time, everything is completely free, and unlike other VPN services, there are no limits on traffic, certain pages or time of use. I don’t see the point of buying Premium, and everything works fine.

Browser extension to create a free VPN

Organization of a free VPN, access to any site on the World Wide Web, the ability to download any video, accelerated loading pages - the utility does all this in one person Hola. However, calling Hola a program or utility is incorrect, because Hola is an extension for browsers such as:

  • Google Chrome.
  • Opera.
  • Mozilla.
  • Yandex Browser, etc.

Hola can be used on anything: from browsers to mobile devices, from television set-top boxes to game consoles.

Today's realities are as follows: the user is blocked from accessing his favorite torrent sites, sites with free movies and TV series, bookmakers, etc. Constantly looking for mirror sites or visiting sites through anonymizers is a long and tedious task.

Hola is a panacea - it replaces your IP address with another one. After that, neither the provider, nor Russian legislation, nor filters will stop you from visiting “forbidden” sites. The VPN technology itself is a network on top of the Internet with a secure connection.

Another plus to the Hola program is its caching technology. In the OS, caching speeds up processes, and on the Internet, it speeds up page loading.

Hola caches website data by storing temporary files on other users' computers. This way, you can visit your favorite sites and download files many times faster than in normal mode.

Hola program features:

  • By downloading Hola for Google Chrome, you can visit any website in any country, because the IP address of your machine is hidden.
  • Hola allows you to download any video from any site via a BitTorrent client.
  • On the official website, you can additionally install AdBlock, which, together with Hola itself, will provide you with a quick and comfortable browsing experience.
  • The program has a simple interface, only the most necessary settings.
  • Accelerated loading of pages and files due to caching.
