Instructions

You must understand that high rates of development and progress lead to fairly rapid obsolescence of devices. New technologies often cannot work on outdated hardware, and the term “obsolete” is applied to gadgets that are two years old.

Unfortunately, this is our case, and install (update) the operating system Nokia Lumia 800 to Windows Phone 8 is not possible. Microsoft Company gives you the opportunity to upgrade to version 7.8, which looks almost identical to what you want, but, of course, is not a complete functional copy.

Much easier.

1. So, NSU - Nokia Software Updater. This software is provided to you by the developer, and this is the most convenient way update your pet's software. This product is completely freely available, so there will be no problems - download from the Internet and install. The file will be named by type "Nokia_Software_Updater_For_Retail_1.0.3.exe".

2. After installation, you will be asked to select a language, select “Russian” from the list.

3. The program will detect your device (if you connect it to your computer, of course) and look at the software available on it. After which, it will offer you an update to a specific (latest) version available. Also, if your data is affected, it will definitely warn you about it.

4. After activating the update process, in no case do not disconnect the phone from the PC, give them a couple of minutes to set up in order to avoid force majeure situations. Within a few minutes (depending on the Internet speed, connection quality), the program will tell you the good news about the successful update, after which the device will reboot, and new launch will be produced from Windows version 7.8.

- during update software all your data on your phone will be saved: programs, games, photos and music... Don't worry about losing something!
- a total of 3 updates will be installed, the whole procedure will take about an hour or an hour and a half of your time, at least that’s how long the update took me Nokia phone Lumia 610.

All we need to update is: a phone, a USB cable, a Zune and a few hours of free time and a little of your patience, since it turned out that the process is a little lengthy. This will give you time to think whether you need this update or not. I think in any case you can’t go wrong! So let's get started...

Step 1. Install the Zune program on your computer, and then connect the phone using your original USB cable to the computer. The Zune program will start automatically, at least it should, if it doesn’t start, open it yourself.

Step 2. In the opened program you don’t need to go far, we need to go to the “Options” menu, in which you will need to select the “Phone” tab and select “Update” in the left menu. The process of checking for a software update for the phone will begin. The process takes a few minutes.

Step 3. After searching, the Zune program will give you a message: An update is available for Windows phone Phone (version 0070.0000.0000.0001). This means that there is already an update for your phone. Now you just need to click the "Update" button and the update process will begin.

Step 4. I want to say that the update process is quite long and tedious, please be patient. Again, for some time the program will check for an update for the phone, although it is strange, because in the previous step it found an update.

Step 5. After some time, the Zune program will still issue a notification that an update exists and the update process will take from 30 minutes to several hours (from experience, I spent an hour and a half with the Nokia lumia 610 until the update was completely completed). Now just click “Update now”.

Step 6. The Zune program performs another check, but it is your phone that says that you can safely continue by pressing the “Forward” button. This is the fastest point in the entire instruction.

Step 7. The update starts downloading from the Internet to your Personal Computer. At this step you don’t need to touch anything, just wait for the software to download. The speed of downloading new software depends on your Internet provider (it took me about 25 minutes).

Step 8: Once the software is on your computer, the Zune program will begin to reboot your phone. This is one of the longest processes, so we just wait and do nothing with the phone. The procedure can last from 5 to 30 minutes, this is normal.

Step 9: Once your phone restarts and turns on, the Zune software will begin backing up your data on your phone, saving everything to your computer. This procedure will take place 1 to 3 times during the entire phone update period. This is the longest section in terms of time.

At this step, it happens that an error occurs. Zune says it can't do it backup and you have some problems with your phone. To avoid this, you must do the following:
(1) - turn off your phone with the power off button
(2) - hold down the power button, wait for the vibration and hold down the camera button, hold it until the image appears on the screen

(3) - in this state, connect the phone via USB cable to the computer
(4) - go to device manager, find your phone and select "Update drivers" from the menu

(5) - after the update, turn off the phone with the power button
(6) - turn on the phone normal mode and continue to follow the instructions, unfortunately, from the first step!

Step 10. After creation backup copy your phone on your computer, the Zune program will begin installing updates on your phone. After the first update, the phone menu will not change visually, this is how it should be! Then the second part of the update will be installed (starting from step 1, and at the end the third update will be installed).

Step 11. After installing the new software on your phone, it, like a regular computer, will have to reboot again. This procedure also takes about 5-10 minutes. We're just waiting for further steps.

Step 12. Finally, when you have almost no patience and strength left to look at all this, the Zune program warns that the installation of updates on your phone is finally completed and you can safely start using it with the new operating system Windows Phone 7.8

Step 13 Congratulations! Now you have an operating system on your phone Windows system Phone 7.8 and of course you get a number of new functions and features in the phone that will decorate and diversify your phone.
