We understand the non-obvious capabilities of the service.

As a child, when I had too much free time, I could literally disappear for days on various music forums in search of really interesting tracks.

Many years have passed, I have neither the time nor the desire to shovel tons of trash. Does everything Apple Music .

I was immediately captivated by the selections based on my interests. I discovered a huge number of performers who very quickly became loved ones. But this is not all the advantages of the service.

There are a number of “tricks” here that not everyone knows about. Highlighted ten most hidden from sight- I myself only learned about them from guides on thematic Western IT-forums.

1. Select a new melody for the alarm clock - it’s a pity, it’s not possible to call

How to make your morning really healthy? In this case, the most important point is its actual beginning - moment of awakening. It will be much better with some cool musical composition, right?

As it turns out, the standard system alarm clock works with music added to its audio recordings or simply downloaded offline Apple Music. The choice is endless.

2. We allow obscene language - that's why we didn't see half the tracks on the iPhone or iPad

I create playlists and a set of albums from my library in Apple Music on MacBook. And right away I was very embarrassed that iPhone or iPad in some albums available far away not all tracks.

Surprisingly, the reason turned out to be a restriction on profanity, which can be disabled in the device settings (Settings - General - Restrictions - Music, podcasts and news).

3. Manage your media library using Siri - useful while driving

“Play the best songs of 2000”, “After this, play Tiesto”, “Play something similar”, “Next song”, “Shuffle the music”, “See who's singing”, “Add this song to my library”, “ Like the composition"- and these are not all the commands that are understood Siri For driving Apple Music.

Very useful while driving when iPhone connected to car media system.

4. Turn on displaying only offline tracks - going outdoors

Despite the fact that we all live in the high-tech 21st century, not the entire planet still has high-quality access to high-speed mobile internet. So sometimes it's useful to have a few cool albums in Apple Music offline - for example, during a random outing.

But how to evaluate the entire list of downloaded songs? It’s very simple - click on the track sorting switch and mark display only downloaded music.

5. We search for an album one track at a time - useful when viewing playlists from a selection

I already wrote about this above - for me Apple Music especially valuable precisely because of the selections that I use regularly. With their help, I discovered a whole range of extraordinary performers, which I've never heard of.

I almost always listen to music in entire albums, so I search for them by specific track. To do this we open extra menu compositions and simply tap on the album cover.

Healthy: choose headphones that suit your favorite genre:

  • these are good for jazz and instrumental
  • These are appreciated among fans of rock and hardcore
  • normal option for bit and quality
  • they'll play anything and shut everyone up
  • if you prefer not to worry, take the right model.

6. Add tracks from the radio to your recordings - that’s the only reason I listen to it

I listen to the radio in Apple Music precisely in order to discover some new performers - in this case, a principle similar to the previous point works for me.

Good that any composition from the radio you can easily add to your library. To do this, you need to open the playback section, activate the additional menu with the button with three dots and tap on the plus sign.

7. We make the collections as interesting as possible - just remove unnecessary ones

The more starting points, all the better. Therefore, I advise you to remove selections you don’t like from the menu by long tapping on any of them. Then those suitable to your liking are guaranteed there will be much more.

8. We remember what we listened to yesterday - the history of tracks and radio stations

I often caught myself thinking that just yesterday I was listening to some cool track, but neither its name, nor the artist or album, of course. I do not remember. In this case, the history of tracks and radio stations will help.

9. Understanding dynamic playlists - creating playlists on the fly

I myself rarely create traditional playlists, each time focusing on the most new content. That's why I always give preference to dynamic ones.

I'm launching one interesting album, and then I add what should play after it to the menu "Further"- that's how it works.

10. We create our own radio station based on any track - like-minded people

Once upon a time I iPhone there was a whole selection of applications for identifying like-minded people. This also applied to applications from App Store , feature films, and musical performers. Then, due to lack of time, I simply “gave up” on looking for something interesting Thus.

IN Apple Music there is something similar. Each user of the service can create their own radio station based on any track or an entire artist. To do this, just open an additional menu from any section of interest and click on the button with the image of radio waves.

Apple Music app tab overview

Media library

In this tab you'll find music synced to iTunes, songs and playlists you add from Apple Music and you can sort tracks by artist, album or song in alphabetical order.

For you

The “For You” tab is a selection of playlists and albums based on your musical preferences. It is updated regularly to delight you with fresh tracks.

The playlists in this section are created by Apple Music editors and shown to you based on your preferences.

The more tracks or playlists you like, the more accurate your recommendations become.

Review

In this section you can see new releases, playlists with new music, new artists and top charts. All new releases and exclusive tracks are available for listening upon availability. Apple subscriptions Music.

Radio

In this tab you can turn on thematic radio stations of different genres. You can also start listening to a radio station based on a specific song or album. To do this, click on the cover image of a recently listened song from your collection.

Search

In this section, you can find any song, artist, or album in your library or Apple Music collection. Simply enter the name of the track or artist in the search bar and press "Find" on the virtual keyboard.

    Alarm melody

You can assign any song from Apple Music as an alarm ringtone. To do this, in the alarm settings, select “Sound” → “Select song”.

    Control your music with Siri

You can ask your virtual assistant Siri to play songs specific performer, a specific song or selection by genre.

Always listen to music without the Internet

You can listen to music from the library without the Internet if you download it to your phone (icon with a cloud and an arrow). It's easy to forget about this, so set up automatic downloading. By default, this option is disabled, so go to the “Music” item in the settings and turn on the “Automatic download” toggle switch. Now all the music you add to your library will be played without the Internet. Make sure that in the “Cellular Data” item the “Downloads” toggle is turned off to save traffic. There is no such feature on Android.

Organize your media library

The standard set of buttons for navigating the media library is not convenient for everyone: some listen to music by artist and album, some save playlists, and others are interested in individual genres. On the Library page, click the Edit button in the top right corner and select the navigation buttons you use. In the same menu, you can select the “Downloaded Music” item so that your library contains only those songs that you purchased from iTunes.

Manage playlists

Apple Music has two strange commands that appear when you long-press or press hard on a song: “Play Next” and “Play After.” The first one puts the song after the one that is playing, but does not interrupt the playlist. For example, you listen to a selection, find an interesting track - select “Play next”, listen to it, and then immediately return to the playlist. “Play After” puts the song or album after the playlist or album that is playing.

Listen to your Shazam

Install Shazam and listen to songs you've Shazamed on Apple Music. Go to Shazam settings and select "Connect to Apple Music." After this, an updated playlist “My Shazams” will appear in your library.

Reconfigure interests

If the app's weekly music selections aren't to your taste, reconfigure your system. Like and dislike songs throughout the week, and Apple Music may adjust your preferences and select the music you like best. Also try re-specifying your favorite genres and artists. This is done in the “For You” tab: go to your profile and click “Select artists”.

Control the radio

Radio in Apple Music is the tracks you've ever listened to, as well as anything the system thinks you might like. The radio works differently than a regular playlist: your favorite songs are marked with stars rather than hearts. Click on the star and choose whether you like the song and whether you want to hear something similar on the radio or not.

Make the song your alarm clock

If standard ringtones for the alarm clock are no longer able to get you out of bed on time, perhaps it’s time to change it to your favorite or, conversely, hated song, for example. In the “Clock” application, go to the alarm settings, then to the “Sound” item and select “Songs” - the Apple Music library will open, from which you can select a song. There are no such functions on Android.

Adjust the equalizer

Perhaps your favorite music will bring more emotions when correct setting equalizer. For iPhones, there are 23 sound settings options by genre. Select them in the settings under “Music” - “Equalizer”. In the desktop version, everything is more serious: here you can not only select settings, but also select your own and assign names to them. The equalizer window opens with the key combination Option + Cmd + E (in Windows - Ctrl + Shift +2). On Android, the equalizer is in the application settings - the link redirects to “Audio Options”.

Save space

To prevent added and downloaded songs from filling up your phone storage, set a download limit. In the settings, in the “Music” item, select “Storage optimization” and set the memory limit that will be spent on your music: 16, 32, 64, 128 gigabytes (if you have 256 gigabytes of memory in your phone). On Android, you can limit the memory space for the cache (in the application settings in the “Playback cache” item) and specify the location for downloading songs (on the phone or on the card - set in the “Download address” item).

Don't be scared by loud songs

You listen to a playlist in which the quiet track The xx is followed by the loud song System of a Down, and you wince as the song screams in your ears. To prevent this from happening, turn on the “Sound Check” toggle switch in the “Music” section of the settings. After this, Apple Music will equalize the sound of all songs to the same level. There is a minus: all songs will sound quieter and not as rich. There is no such feature on Android.

Search by songs

Navigating through an alphabetical list of song and album titles is more convenient than searching for songs through a search - perhaps this is your scenario. This can be done in Apple Music. Enable the “Songs” and “Albums” items in your media library, go to one of them and select the order with the “Sort” button.

Create a playlist with your favorite songs

Apple Music doesn't have a playlist with songs that have been given a heart, but many people want one. Create one in iTunes. To do this, go to your media library, right-click in the “All playlists” field and select “New smart playlist.” In the window that opens, select “Like” in the large drop-down list, set a large number of songs in the playlist and check “Live update”. A playlist with songs that you have liked will appear in your library. Such playlists work strangely: some songs are not in them, they are slowly synchronized with the application, but there is no other way out yet.

Fix common problems, including missing music, missing artwork, and duplicate playlists.
