Much is already known. The smartphones will receive a full redesign, another unusual camera, updated displays and many other features. In this article, we have collected all the reliable information about the future iPhone. After reading the material, many of you will definitely want to start saving money by next fall.

How many new iPhones will there be?

Apple will again release three new smartphones in 2020. About this is the authoritative analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is famous for dozens of correct forecasts regarding Apple devices. According to his sources, the following will be released in the fall of 2020:

  • 5.4-inch iPhone with OLED screen,
  • 6.1-inch iPhone with OLED screen,
  • 6.7-inch iPhone with OLED screen.

All new Apple smartphones of 2020 will have. iPhones with LCD displays will be a thing of the past.

Name

Just a few years ago there was no doubt about what Apple would call its new smartphones. The iPhone 5 was followed by the iPhone 5s, and after that everyone was waiting for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. No surprises, complete stability.

But everything changed after the release. Apple began to practice naming. It has gotten to the point that the company's latest 6.5-inch smartphone is called ! If you told anyone in 2015 that the iPhone would soon have such a name, they definitely wouldn’t believe it.

Apple itself seems to like such names. There are currently no obvious leaks about what the 2020 iPhone will be called. There are only assumptions based on the names of the latter iPhone models.

Most likely, Apple will name the following iPhone smartphones 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, by analogy with previous models. The names are cumbersome, but you won’t get lost in them.

At the same time, the “starter” and less expensive iPhone 12 model will have a 6.1-inch display. The iPhone 12 Pro is 5.4-inch, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max is 6.7-inch. This was confirmed by the same expert Ming-Chi Kuo.

Design

The new iPhones will have an updated design. Apple will change a lot appearance their smartphones for the first time in three years.

The main innovation will be related to the shape of the body. The connecting frame will no longer be round. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, This design solution will make the new iPhones similar to the already legendary iPhone 4.

Also, the rectangular side edges of the iPhone 12 will be similar to the edges of tablets. By the way, when Apple first introduced iPad Pro 2018 in a new design, experts immediately assumed the imminent appearance of similar edges in the iPhone. This information was later confirmed by other leaks.

Used for iPhone cases 12 materials will change. First of all, the new iPhones will have a metal frame with a more complex design using . The frame will connect solid protected glass, which will cover the front and back surfaces of the case.

As Ming-Chi Kuo reported, due to the use of technologies unique to the iPhone, production costs will increase. According to the analyst, the maximum increase could be 60%. How much this will affect the final price of the iPhone 12 is unknown.

iPhone 12 in the style of iPhone 4 (concept)

The specialist also emphasized that rectangular frames in the style of the iPhone 4 and new materials will change the appearance of the new products “significantly.” Note that the analyst usually does not throw around such statements. Most likely, we are indeed in for a powerful redesign of the iPhone.

The design of the iPhone 12 will also be refreshed on the front surface. According to insider Ben Geskin, Apple will be able to get rid of the “unibrow” in the next iPhones.

This means that the frame around the perimeter of the screen in the iPhone 12 will have the same thickness. Geskin presented a visualization of such a design solution. It's important to note that this concept is based on leaks and not a confirmed prototype or CAD drawings.

iPhone 12 without “unibrow”

The new iPhones will receive significant changes in appearance throughout the body. Ming-Chi Kuo is confident that the redesign will allow smartphones to become incredibly popular among consumers.

By the way, the expert increased his expectations for iPhone sales after a leak about the redesign appeared. Now the expert believes that in 2020 Apple will sell 85 million smartphones at once. For comparison, in 2019 this figure will be approximately 75 million.

Display

All new Apple smartphones in 2020 will have OLED screens. Leading analysts stated this, and also indicated potential Apple suppliers.

Battery

Battery capacity in new iPhones not yet disclosed. We should expect another increase, as was the case with the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Apple's 2019 flagships received noticeable improvements - by four and five hours, respectively.

However, you shouldn’t expect the same big increase in the iPhone 12. The reason is that the new iPhones will receive support for fifth generation networks. The presence of 5G modems in smartphones will certainly negatively affect the operating time without recharging.

Connection

Yes, there was a spoiler above. The new iPhone 12 will be the first iPhones to support 5G. Especially for this, Apple is working with 5G modem manufacturer Qualcomm. Litigation that had lasted for several years was stopped in order to achieve joint cooperation.

Protection systems

Back in early 2019, the Internet announced Apple’s intention to equip the iPhone 12 with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. According to leaks, the company plans to thereby complement the Face ID facial scanning function, offering users an alternative.

However, there was not a single confirmation of this information from more or less reliable sources. In this regard, for now information about the return of Touch ID to the iPhone is nothing more than rumors.

iPhone 12 with Touch ID in the screen (concept)

As for Face ID, there are no confirmed leaks about improvements to the feature in the iPhone 12.

iPhone 12 price in Russia

The most interesting thing is the price. It is highly likely that the cost of the new iPhone 12 will be higher compared to previous models.

Firstly, the iPhone 12 is the first model of a new series of Apple smartphones. Secondly, the cost of production will increase due to the use of new technologies. And thirdly, Apple in 2019, which surprised many experts. Probably, the price increase was postponed until 2020 and the first iPhone from the new cycle.

We expect the price of the new iPhones to increase by at least $50.

iPhone 12 price in Russia:

Note: These are estimated prices based on projections and leaks.

  • iPhone 12 - from 63,990 rubles.
  • iPhone 12 Pro - from 93,990 rubles.
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max - from 103,990 rubles.

More accurate information on likely prices for new iPhones will appear closer to September 2020.

iPhone 12 release date

The presentation and release of the next iPhone models will take place according to Apple's traditional schedule. In 2019, Russia was included in the list of countries in the first wave in which new iPhones became available. We expect a similar move from the American company in a year. Thanks to this, you will be able to purchase heavily updated iPhones in Russia in the second half of September.

Presentation of iPhone 12 - first half of September 2020.

The iPhone 12 release date is the second half of September 2020.

It is assumed that all three new iPhones of 2020 will be launched at the same time, as in 2019 with the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

When will the new iPhone come out? What are its characteristics. When will the price of iPhone XS or XR drop? Is it worth buying a new iPhone now or is it better to wait a little? In this article we will answer all your questions.

iPhone 11 at first glance

  • iPhone 11 will be launched and released in September 2019.
  • This will be the first phone to run on the latest software Apple iOS iOS 13.
  • It will most likely have a triple camera setup (similar to Samsung Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30).
  • The iPhone 11 is expected to be powered by Apple's new A13 chipset.
  • It probably won't be 5G capable.
  • The iPhone 11 may have the largest battery ever included in an iPhone.

iPhone 11 Release Date – When will the next iPhone be released?

On September 12, 2018, Apple introduced not one, but three new iPhones: iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR, which are now available for purchase from Apple. They came out a year after the launch of the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X.

With the launch of new phones came price cuts for older models (iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus), and the iPhone X has now been discontinued entirely, along with the iPhone SE.

Release dates for the last few iPhone models:

  • iPhone 5 – September 2012
  • iPhone 5S – September 2013
  • iPhone 6 – September 2014
  • iPhone 6S – September 2015
  • iPhone SE – March 2016
  • iPhone 7 – September 2016
  • iPhone X / iPhone 8 – September 2017
  • iPhone XS – September 2018

How often do iPhone updates happen?

Apple usually waits one year before introducing a new iPhone model. It has become a tradition for Apple to hold an event in September where new phone models are showcased and then go on sale a couple of weeks later.

When will the new iPhone be released in 2019 in Russia?

The presentation of the iPhone 11 will take place no later than September 12, because Apple’s traditional autumn event takes place around this date. The new product will go on sale no earlier than the end of September - beginning of October. Russia will probably not be included in the “first wave” of sales again.

iPhone 11 price – How much will the new iPhone cost?

The iPhone XS was priced at £999/£999 last year, the same as the iPhone X that came before it. It would seem worth assuming that the iPhone 11 will cost the same.

Apple will offer the iPhone 11 on undisclosed contracts for 399 (128GB), 499 (256GB) and 599 (512GB) starting September 20, 2019. SIM-free pricing was announced at US$999 (128GB), US$1,099 (256GB) and US$1,199 (512GB).

The 128GB iPhone 11 Max will cost $1,099, while the 256GB and 512GB models will retail for $1,199 and $1,299.

iPhone 11 – Design and Display

It looks like the bump on the iPhone 11 will be noticeably larger than the small bumps you'll find on rival Android phones like the Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30 Pro.

In terms of the screen technology itself, there's no reason to believe Apple will deviate from the 5.8- and 6.5-inch screens currently used on the XS and XS Max. We're also unlikely to see the 11 Series switch from OLED technology back to LCD.

iPhone 11 – camera

We managed to get a diagram of a system with three cameras on the back of the next Apple phone. This design has already proven controversial due to its boxy, asymmetrical nature.

One of the three lenses will be wide-angle. Interestingly, this sensor will allow users to "repair" images after shooting, adding objects that were simply out of frame in the first shot.

It would make sense for the new iPhone to have three cameras. Multi-touch cameras have been a staple on Android flagships for the past few years, and the systems on the Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30 Pro are among the best, definitely a step up from the iPhone XS and XS Max cameras.

Apparently, the next iPhone could feature a 12-megapixel TrueDepth selfie camera capable of slow-motion recording.

iPhone 11 – performance and software

The iPhone 11 will most likely be equipped with an A13 processor. As for the software, this is the most specific aspect of the iPhone 11 functionality that we know about right now.

  • Smart Dark Mode includes light and dark versions of the same wallpaper with the option smooth transition between them by command or when tied to the time of sunrise and sunset.
  • The entire user interface also becomes darker when the mode is activated.
  • Even before you add the upcoming A13 chipset, Apple has promised significant performance improvements thanks to latest version iOS.
  • Face unlocking will be 30% faster, while basic metrics like app updates will be reduced by 60%.
  • The introduction of Sign in with Apple will also help simplify registration for various third-party and third-party services through Face ID integration and anonymous credentials features.
  • Along with the addition of some new Aniomji characters, Memoji will be getting a bunch of new customizations such as piercings, Extra options makeup, caps and alternative teeth.
  • There will be native support for both PlayStation DualShock 4 and Bluetooth-enabled Xbox controllers.

iPhone 11 – Battery Life, USB-C and 5G

The power increase is planned to be closer to 5% 3110mAh. This advanced power supply will apparently provide bi-directional wireless charging Qi, so you can turn on the new AirPods 2 from the back of your phone.

Last year Apple switched from Lightning to full USB-C solution for the iPad Pro, and has also chosen the standard for all of its modern MacBooks, Apple won't switch to USB-C in 2019, so save your spare Lightning cables for a while longer.

The iPhone 11 will not be ready to join the 5G connection. Apple is waiting for connectivity standards to mobile network will not be installed and pushed to widespread adoption before adoption, as is the case with 3G and 4G.

But the iPhone could benefit from the latest Wi-Fi standard 802.11 ax, better known as Wi-Fi 6, which will increase performance by 4 times in crowded areas and 40% faster data transfer speeds.

When is the best time to buy an iPhone?

The best time to buy an iPhone isn't when a new model comes out—unless you're desperate for one. the latest equipment. You may be willing to wait a month or two after launch until supplies catch up with demand and any problems with the new phones are identified and fixed.

A new iPhone is generally worth buying within nine months of its launch, but in July/August we'd recommend holding off on buying until the autumn - unless your current iPhone is broken and will last for three to four months.

The worst time to buy a new iPhone is the months leading up to September. So don't buy an iPhone in August if you don't want to bitterly regret a bad purchase a month later.

What if I want to buy an old iPhone?

You may think that you just want new phone and don't worry too much about the latest iPhone model, why not buy a new iPhone now?

But usually, after the release of a new model, prices for the current generation iPhone fall. And if you don't really need upgrades, you can buy an even older iPhone, which Apple no longer makes because the companies that make Cell phones, they are selling these models to sell off the shares.

For example, the iPhone X was discontinued and its price dropped. Take a look at the most the best prices iPhone X. In addition, you can take a closer look at the offers of iPhonei 7, iPhonei 7, Phone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

Wait for Black Friday in November

Another tip: Buy a new iPhone during Apple's Black Friday sales at the end of November. Apple doesn't offer discounts itself, but will offer an additional gift card. Other retailers will offer discounts on iPhone and iPhone contracts.

Is now a good time to buy a new iPhone?

Now is not a good time to buy a new iPhone. Unless you're too keen on the championship, we wouldn't recommend buying a new model within a month of launch. It's best to wait until October/November to see if there are better deals and to make sure there are no issues with the new model.

Apple's iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max have been on sale for a long time, but everyone is looking at the Cupertino company's 2020 phones—and for one very good reason.

Next year's iPhone will reportedly be the first to support 5G networks. At least one model will definitely support 5G - and it's possible that all iPhones released in 2020 will be able to take advantage of the faster network standard. Other reports indicate completely new design The iPhone 12, which eliminates the camera cutout, adds in-display Touch ID functionality and at least brings in two new sizes.

It's still very early days and a lot could change between now and fall 2020. However, there are already many leaks. Here's what the world's rumor mill has to say about the new iPhone 12.

Latest iPhone 12 Rumors (Updated December 16)

  • According to the latest information from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 12 line may be slightly more expensive - perhaps $50 or more - than their predecessors.
  • According to a new report, the iPhone 12 will likely have a larger battery as the new iPhone will have smaller battery protection circuits.
  • According to a report by Ming Chi Kuo, Apple will release five new iPhones in 2020. Kuo predicts the 4.7-inch iPhone SE 2 will debut in the first half of next year, and four 5G iPhone 12 models will arrive in fall 2020.

iPhone 12 release date

The iPhone 11 line debuted at Apple's press conference on September 10, 2019, so it makes sense that the new iPhone 12 will arrive in September 2020. (Here's a tip: leave the second week of September open, and don't forget to count Labor Day if you want to guess a specific announcement date.)

There is always a chance that Apple will launch its new product earlier in 2020 so as not to lose too much ground with rival phone makers that have already released 5G models. But it would be an unusual move for Apple, which typically limits its phone releases to the fall. However, there is every chance that a cheaper iPhone SE successor could arrive sooner. (More on this below.)

iPhone 12 price

The iPhone 11 starts at $699, while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max cost $999 and $1,099, respectively. Question: How much will 5G support add to the price of the new iPhone 12?

Most of the 5G phones coming out this year are more expensive compared to regular models. For example, the Galaxy S10 5G starts at $1,299—$300 more than the Galaxy S10+. Newly released Galaxy Note The 10 Plus 5G also costs $1,299, which is $200 more than the standard Note 10 Plus.

Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo was initially pessimistic about the cost of the 5G iPhone. In November, he wrote about the increase in the cost of the iPhone's motherboard, which would lead you to believe that the phone overall would be more expensive. However, in a recent report, Kuo actually had a positive outlook on iPhone 12 pricing, saying that "Apple will not significantly increase the prices of the 5G iPhone compared to this year's lineup," with price increases ranging from $30 to $100 depending on the specific situation . version. Kuo believes Apple has found ways to offset the extra costs he cited earlier.

One advantage Apple could gain by waiting until 2020 for its 5G phone is that the price of 5G components could drop by then, allowing Apple to release the iPhone 12 for about the same price you pay for an iPhone Today. This is pure speculation this moment, and Kuo's report makes it less likely.

5G networks will also grow larger than they are now, with 5G coverage limited to select areas in just a few cities. For example, T-Mobile has already launched its low-band 5G network, which offers speeds slightly faster than those traditionally provided by LTE.

So, although Apple will release 5G devices later than Samsung, OnePlus and others, the iPhone 12 may arrive right on time as 5G becomes relevant for more of people.

iPhone 12 design: death to the hole?

The notch that has become so familiar since Apple introduced it on the iPhone X may be coming to the 2020 iPhone. A China Times report says Apple is ready to move away from the notch, and while a Credit Suisse analyst says it will happen by 2021, the first notch-less iPhone in a long time could arrive by 2020.

Benjamin Geskin, who has come up with many phone renders based on leaks and rumors, has released a 6.7-inch iPhone render that leaves the notch and instead places the iPhone's TrueDepth camera components inside a thin frame. Geskin tweeted that this is a prototype for the 2020 iPhone model. In a follow-up tweet, Geskin said Apple is testing Face ID prototypes that have components that can be placed on top panel phone, although the source is not associated with this requirement.

Another rumor is that Apple is looking to phase out the rounded-edge design it first introduced with the iPhone 6 line and carried over to the latest iPhone 11 series. The new look, like the iPhone 4, will add a brushed aluminum band aesthetic: more sharp edges with flat sides and flatter front and rear glass panels.

A concept posted by PhoneArena helps us imagine what this design could look like. Also note the narrower notch at the top of the display, with more space for the time and battery icons to the left and right of the earpiece and the TrueDepth camera system.

Meanwhile, many designers have already started distributing video renderings, hoping to guess the design of future Apple phones. One such mockup, created by a designer named Techy Paradise, shows a notchless device similar to the 6.7-inch prototype Geskin hinted at, with a quad camera lens on the back.

iPhone 12: how many models?

Most of what we know about the new iPhone 12 so far comes from a report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who predicts four different models iPhone 12 for 2020: one 5.4-inch, two 6.1-inch and the largest version is 6.7-inch.

Previously, Kuo said that only the 5.4- and 6.7-inch models will have 5G, and the 6.1-inch phone will be the successor Apple iPhone XR and iPhone 11 in 2020 and will stick to LTE. However, Kuo has now revised his forecast: due to the high probability that manufacturers Android phones will be selling 5G phones on the cheap by next year, coupled with Apple's interest in AR and Intel's recent purchase of a smartphone modem, he is now confident that all four 2020 iPhones will have 5G.

These four phones are expected to have OLED displays. (Like the iPhone XR before it, the iPhone 11 has an LCD Retina display instead of an OLED panel.)

While none of this has been done yet, news of a potential 5.4-inch model should please fans of the 4-inch iPhone SE, which Apple stopped producing after its launch in 2016 and which reached end of life in 2019.

The 5.4-inch iPhone 2020 will likely fall somewhere between the SE and the current 5.8-inch iPhone XS in size, with a much more practical screen than the SE thanks to Apple's new thin-bezel all-screen design.

But according to rumors, Apple is preparing a full-fledged successor to the iPhone SE with a 4.7-inch LCD display and iPhone 8 design with an A13 Bionic processor. Analysts expect this phone to launch within the first three months of 2020.

iPhone 12: 5G network for all four models?

A Nikkei report says that all iPhone 12 models will come with networking opportunities 5G, which means you don't necessarily need to upgrade to the iPhone 12 Pro Max to enjoy faster downloads.

Once 5G takes off, you'll see two different types 5G networks: millimeter wave (mmWave) and sub-6 GHz.

Currently the majority wireless networks 5G being launched in the United States is limited to the mmWave spectrum. This type of infrastructure provides extremely low latency connectivity at gigabit speeds, with the caveat of being extremely sensitive to physical obstacles.

Sub-6 GHz spectrum, on the other hand, is much more similar to regular LTE networks in that it is significantly slower but is capable of penetrating buildings and walls. T-Mobile launched a sub-6GHz network in December, although the other three major carriers have yet to follow suit.

The first smartphones available in the US, such as the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and LG V50 ThinQ 5G, used the Qualcomm X50 5G modem to connect to mmWave networks. However, Qualcomm's latest 5G modem, the X55, also supports sub-6GHz frequencies - meaning phones with the new hardware will be much better equipped to support the full 5G band in all its different specifications. (The X55 ships with select Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G models and will ship with devices using Snapdragon processor 865 next year.)

Apple will reportedly partner with Qualcomm and Samsung to ship its 2020 iPhones with modems from both companies that can connect to mmWave and sub-6GHz networks. According to Kuo (via CNBC), Qualcomm's development to date has been focused on mmWave networks, while Samsung has focused on sub-6GHz, so Apple may choose to use a specific firm's chip in a specific region, depending on whether it's mmWave or 6 GHz. will be more common.

Until recently, the ongoing legal battle between Apple and Qualcomm stalled the development of the 5G iPhone. For months, Intel had been tipped as the supplier that would provide Apple's first 5G modems in 2021, about two years after 5G phones from Apple's rivals debuted. But then Apple and Qualcomm settled their long-running dispute, Intel abandoned 5G chips entirely, and Apple acquired Intel's modem business. Qualcomm and Samsung are significantly further ahead than Intel, paving the way for the 5G iPhone a year earlier than expected.

Eventually, Apple is expected to stop purchasing Qualcomm and Snapdragon for 5G chips and develop its own modems, just like it does for its A-series processors. However, this is unlikely to happen with the new iPhone 12.

iPhone 12 cameras

Considering that the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max hardware This is Apple's first time using three rear cameras, and we expect this to continue with the Pro versions of the 2020 iPhones. The new iPhone 12 is also expected to feature a new lens called a time-of-flight sensor. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects such an addition to at least two iPhone 12 models.

The time of flight sensor can determine distances more accurately. This helps create better bokeh effects in portrait photos. This also means the iPhone 12 will be able to better support augmented reality apps, which have become increasingly popular in recent years. A new report highlighting 3D camera sensors echoes this claim.

Kuo's report echoes a Bloomberg article from January that claimed Apple could introduce time-of-flight depth sensors capable of scanning entire rooms in its 2020 roster.

Based on a patent application, Apple is also working on a periscope-like telephoto lens that should offer a larger zoom range than previous iPhones. Apple is apparently trying to fit five- and three-lens sensors into a smaller space by using a prism to reflect light.

In November, Sony began teasing its upcoming flagship IMX686 image sensor, which could appear in the iPhone 12. The sensor captures images at 64 megapixels, although it is also capable of delivering optimized 16-megapixel photos with improved light sensitivity thanks to Quad Bayer pixel binning. The image sensors used in all three iPhone 11 models are manufactured by Sony and are rated at 12 megapixels.

Kuo expects the two iPhone 12 models, with 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch variants, to have dual-lens sensors, while the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch variants of the 12 Pro will feature cameras with three lenses.

According to information provided to MacRumors by Barclays analysts, Apple could make widespread use of Touch ID in 2020, enabling fingerprint recognition anywhere on the display.

Just recently, Ming-Chi Kuo said that it's possible the 2021 iPhone could have both Face ID and Touch ID.

iPhone 12 display: 120Hz refresh rate

The new iPhone 12 display may support a long-awaited improvement over the screens on many modern smartphones. A tweet from leaker Ice Universe claims that Apple is considering whether to allow next year's iPhone to switch between 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rates. This rumor gained more weight in October 2019 when DigiTimes reported that the iPhone 12 would have the same 120Hz refresh rate as the iPad Pro.

Apple is considering switching to 60Hz/120Hz screen refresh rates on iPhones in 2020 and is in discussions with Samsung and LG.

Offering an iPhone with a 120Hz refresh rate would mean smoother display scrolling than what we've currently seen from competing devices. Currently, the OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T and Google Pixel 4 set the standard for flagship phones with a 90Hz refresh rate. Asus' ROG Phone 2 features a 120Hz refresh rate, which is rare on OLED panels.

iOS 14 and Apple: perfect stability

Whether by plan or by accident, Apple is always in the software development cycle. After a chaotic and controversial 2017, Apple responded in 2018 with new macOS versions and iOS, which were focused on stability and performance, and did a good job with this task.

But this year, Apple's operating systems took a big step forward and ended up with a bunch of bugs. The summer that Apple developers could have spent building Mac apps based on iOS code or learning how to build apps using the new SwiftUI framework was spent ironing out bugs and compatibility updates.

We hope Apple gets some rest and provides an island of stability for both developers and users. That's not to say Apple won't offer new features for iOS, macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS in 2020; rather, the company will be less afraid to push out new features in 2021 to make sure this year's summer of instability isn't repeated. This is a switch that will also give SwiftUI and Mac Catalyst another cycle of maturity.

Apple CEO Tim Cook at iPhone presentations 11

Regarding iOS 14 in particular, besides stability, I assume that iOS update 2020 will rely even more heavily on augmented reality and improvements in machine learning. Apple will continue to develop software that will make or break the company's future wearable products as companion features for the iPad and iPhone.

Traditionally, Apple has only added new features to the iPad every two years, but with the debut of the iPadOS name in 2019, the company put itself on the spot. We'll likely also see some new iPad features, perhaps focused on further bringing the iPad in line with traditional PC functionality, such as by improving multitasking.

Forecast

What does Tim Cook have in store for us in 2020? We'll find out soon!

Given the features slated for the new iPhone 12, it might be tempting to skip this year's update and hold out for next year's models. We understand the impulse, although in reality the best time to upgrade your phone is when you need a new model, regardless of the features that might be needed a year from now.

There's still so much we don't know about Apple's first 5G iPhones, so be sure to keep an eye on this post in the coming months as new information becomes available.

iOS 14, unlike iOS 13, which was largely developed specifically for the iPad, will focus on expanding functionality iPhone. The fourteenth iteration of Apple's operating system will include native support for 5G modems, providing the company's flagship smartphones with the ability to operate on fifth-generation networks at ultra-high speeds.

In addition to supporting 5G, iOS 14 will focus on improving augmented reality. Apple intends to continue to develop in this direction, since, most likely, simultaneously with the release of the iPhone 12, for which iOS 14 will become the standard version of the OS, the company will present its own AR headset with the ability to connect to a smartphone.

Until now, the eleventh version of iOS was considered the most unsuccessful version. Apple had to release bug fixes six times; it took about two months for iOS 11 to learn to behave decently. The thirteenth version of iOS broke this record: it took eight releases-fixes to put it in order. One of the releases could not be counted, but the corrections are not yet completed, on the stocks, the third beta version of which is available for testing.

Despite the fact that six whole years have passed since Apple abandoned skeuomorphism in iOS, there are still those who still dream of its return. During this time, a new generation of users has grown up who have never encountered this design concept and, most likely, will not encounter it again, because Apple is unlikely to return to using it. Still, they usually prefer not to look at the past, but to move exclusively to the future, in which there is no place for outdated developments. But why not dream?

Last night, Apple resumed its beta testing program for proprietary operating systems, presenting the first test build. This is already the sixth update released after iOS 13, less than two months have passed since its release - for a minute. However, unlike previous updates, this one will become truly independent, since Apple has already implemented all the functions that it presented at WWDC’2019, which means that iOS 13.3 will most likely contain several significant innovations that have not appeared anywhere before.

Recently (and long ago) Apple has switched from a two-year iPhone design update cycle to a three-year one. Like, smartphones are becoming more and more complex. In one year of mass production, all the “jambs” cannot be corrected. Therefore, everyone but those are now waiting for September 2020 to see the all-new, revolutionary and innovative iPhone that is set to set a new benchmark in the industry.

There are only a couple of days left until the release of the final iOS versions 13, which we have all been waiting for since June of this year. It’s worth installing it not only for the night theme and a couple of new functions: the recently introduced ones will become available in iOS 13 Apple services- for example, where games are available for every taste.

Many device users are already accustomed to gestures on the iPhone and iPad and the multi-touch function, which allows you to interact with operating system using not one, but several fingers at once. Perhaps in the near future we will all forget about the usual interaction with technology: the corporation is already patenting new technology in this direction. It will measure the owner’s biometric parameters and send the necessary command to the gadget.

Not so long ago we published material on our website in which. But even if we put aside the subjective point of view, the “Phone” application has really remained almost unchanged since its release original iPhone 2G. Obviously, this did not go without due attention from the public. One of the users of the Reddit portal even decided to contact Craig Federighi, Apple's vice president of software, in the hope of getting an answer to this question.

Honest and detailed review iPhone 11 Pro.

iPhone 11 Pro is the best smartphone on the planet right now. I came to this conclusion after spending two weeks with the new product. I studied it closely, tested it in various conditions, and, of course, paid special attention to the camera. However, the iPhone 11 Pro does have its downsides. One of them basically kills the desire to buy a smartphone. Told me everything in detail and honestly iPhone review 11 Pro.

Where to buy iPhone 11 Pro at the best price

Quite unexpectedly, there are already promotions for purchasing the iPhone 11 Pro!

In Beeline buying an iPhone 11 Pro is available on interest-free installments. You can also get an additional discount when purchasing a smartphone through the trade-in program.

5. The buttons on the iPhone 11 Pro have moved a little lower. All at once, taking the SIM card slot for company. Only some Apple fanatic will say that this has improved convenience. In sober practice, there is no difference with the iPhone XS/X.

6. New case color. The iPhone 11 Pro came out in a new dark green color, in which the smartphone is posing in the photos in the review.

7. A secret change that few people noticed. 11 Pro buttons have a different click sound. The clicking became more pronounced and clear.

8. Dimensions and weight. iPhone 11 Pro is thicker and heavier compared to iPhone XS:

  • iPhone XS: 143.6 x 70.9 x 7.7 mm, 177 g.
  • iPhone 11 Pro: 144 x 71.4 x 8.1 mm, 188 g.

With “Maks” the same picture:

  • iPhone XS Max: 157.5 x 77.4 x 7.7 mm, 208 g.
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max: 158 x 77.8 x 8.1 mm, 226 g.

The difference in size is almost not felt. The thickness is already more noticeable. You can directly feel these 0.4 mm with your hand, but only if you have previously used the iPhone XS without a case. I asked my friends for their opinion on the thickness of the new iPhone. They say that " slightly thick" Nothing particularly negative.

Weight is a completely different story. The iPhone 11 Pro gained 11 grams compared to the iPhone XS. And the 11 Pro Max actually felt like it was “in the village with grandma.” Plus a whopping 18 grams.

These are the heaviest iPhones in history. And their weightiness is obvious. If you switch to 11 Pro from XS, the weight gain seems normal. But when you first pick up the 11 Pro after some “seven” with its 138 grams, at first you feel uneasy. Of course, you can get used to it. There's nothing complicated about it.

I won’t say that heavy weight is a minus of the new iPhones. This is the trend. Every year, smartphones acquire more and more modules and boards, which makes it difficult to become lighter.

And this is assuming that Apple is trying to make iPhones as light as possible. Just look at the new one motherboard iPhone 11 Pro.

And if it's short?! Triple camera and dark green color- this is what clearly sets the iPhone 11 Pro apart from other iPhones. Is this not enough? Absolutely not! The camera really draws attention to itself. I caught people's gazes dozens of times when I took out my smartphone to take a photo. Of course, they weren't looking at me. The unusual triple camera instantly attracts the eye, especially those in the know.

Frosted glass. Pleasant to the fingers and eyes

The main change in terms of design of the iPhone 11 Pro is rear frosted glass. First of all, it looks different. The glass reflects less and does not attract fingerprints. It always looks neat, there is no need to endlessly wipe it.

But the biggest difference is in the tactile sensations from the glass. If you stroke the case with your finger, it glides directly over the matte surface of the case. Does not get stuck, as happens with glossy glass. The paradox is that the iPhone 11 Pro with a matte body fits more confidently in the hand and does not slip out.

I really liked the frosted glass. When you hold a smartphone in your hand, you feel its novelty. A year ago, when I first touched the iPhone XS after the iPhone X, there was nothing like this. The update in terms of design was as boring as possible.

The iPhone 11 Pro has the same design (remember the cycles). But due to the frosted glass there is a feeling of newness. For me, this is a very important indicator, especially for those who plan to switch to a smartphone from the iPhone 8/8 Plus and other newer models with glass cases.

And if it's short?! Frosted glass - top! It looks cool and doesn't collect fingerprints; it slips less in your hand.

New dark green color. Discreet, stylish, in the spirit of Apple

iPhone 11 Pro is available in four colors: classic space gray and silver, slightly tuned gold and a completely new dark green, also known as Midnight Green. As soon as I saw the colors, I immediately knew - I’ll take green!

Apple created an amazing color, one might say premium. It is not striking, but looks stylish and modern. Not too bright, but not dull and faded either. The designers found a middle ground. If the green color were a little brighter, it would already be a bit childish. But there is nothing like that; after all, this is a Pro iPhone.

By the way, buying an iPhone 11 Pro in green turned out to be a real problem. I never expected a shortage of such expensive iPhones, so I was in no hurry to be one of the first to buy. And in vain.

A couple of days later I went to buy a dark green iPhone 11 Pro with 64 GB of memory, but it ran out. In one store, a second, a third. I visited about ten stores in the center of Moscow. And when patience was running out, the store had one, last, iPhone 11 Pro with the required memory and color.

And if it's short?! Conversations about design are always subjective. But I really liked the dark green color of the new iPhone. It looks fresh and Apple-like.

Equipment. Finally, normal charging!

Friends, it's done. In 2019, when at price flagship smartphones it became possible to purchase a trip to Goa or a good car, Apple included a normal charger in the iPhone box.

The 5W adapter is a thing of the past. It was replaced by a modern (almost) Charger with a power of 18 W! I was honestly happy when I unpacked my smartphone and saw this adapter. A smile appeared on his face. After all, here it is, a change of generations!

Moreover, the adapter itself is far from new. Apple has been selling it in its online store for several years, for quite decent money, I must say.

So, if you buy an iPhone 11 Pro with your last cash, you won’t have to spend until payday to purchase a normal charging adapter. You will be able to charge your smartphone quickly out of the box.

Oh yeah, the USB-C to Lightning cable needed for this charging is included. Let me clarify just in case, because we are talking about Apple. This one could have sent for the cable to a nearby store.

And if it's short?!"Fast" charging "out of the box". Better late than never.

Display. Brighter and more contrasty - and this is noticeable without a microscope

Apple loves to release a new iPhone with a description like “the screen is juicier, brighter and cooler!” After the purchase, you look at the smartphone screen and don’t understand where the coolest thing is?

In the case of the iPhone 11 Pro, it's a different story. Let's start with the numbers.

The device is equipped with a Super Retina XDR display with a resolution of 2436x1125 pixels (458 ppi). Screen contrast is 2 000 000:1 , which is twice as much as the iPhone XS.

Display brightness in normal mode work - 800 cd/m². If you watch content in HDR format, it increases to record levels 1200 cd/m². The iPhone XS has a more modest screen brightness in any mode - 625 cd/m².

Brightness and contrast are greater, but is this noticeable when using a smartphone in everyday life? Even before buying an iPhone, the thought crept in that there might not be a difference. But it turned out that there was room for improvement.

Saw huge difference between the screens of the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone XS in comparison, taking both smartphones in hand. First I tested it at home, under artificial light. On the main screen with the splash screen and icons, everything seemed the same.

But as soon as we launched Safari and opened our site there, the difference literally caught our eye. The iPhone 11 Pro screen is 20% brighter! Against its background, the iPhone XS display appeared dull. But just a year ago one could only admire him.

The video from YouTube finished me off. Due to increased brightness and contrast, colors in videos began to look more saturated.

When I went outside, the effect of increased brightness was confirmed. On iPhone screen 11 Pro is more comfortable to view content, even if the direct rays of the sun fall on it. I won’t say that the iPhone XS display suddenly “turned into a pumpkin.” No, he's cool. But the updated iPhone 11 Pro display is cooler.

And if it's short?! The iPhone 11 Pro's display is actually the best among iPhones. Double the contrast and increased brightness make all the difference. It’s comfortable to watch any type of content outside on a sunny day; YouTube videos become juicier.

And the screen turns on very quickly

Whether it's because of the A13 processor or just some optimization, the iPhone 11 Pro's display responds instantly to touches or pressing the side power button. Compared with the iPhone XS, the difference is visible to the naked eye. The 11 Pro is a few fractions of a second faster.

It would seem like a small thing. But the screen “wakes up” faster, and unlocking using Face ID occurs faster, which, in turn, has also become faster.

The most valuable resource is time. And it is precisely this that all these improvements save. Alas, it is unlikely that anyone will calculate how many minutes or hours these changes will save in the iPhone 11 Pro compared to the iPhone XS, for example, over a year. I'm sure it'll be like this for a few hours.

Speed of work. So fast it's boring

Installed in iPhone 11 Pro latest system on the A13 Bionic processor.

Let's look at the numbers right away, for fans:

1. Technical process 7nm N7 Pro(using extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV)).
2. 6 cores. 2 productive - 2.65 GHz, 4 energy efficient - frequency unknown.
3. 40% faster than A12.
4. 4 graphics cores. 20% faster than A12.
5. 8.5 billion transistors. 23% more than A12.
6. Machine learning system Neural Engine 3rd generation. 20% faster and consumes 15% less energy.

In general, the chip " faster, higher, stronger" But is there any difference in speed with the iPhone XS?

Honestly, I tried to discern the differences when performing ordinary tasks. There are none, and that's it! Any movement around the interface, launching VK, YouTube, Instagram, Safari, any other ordinary applications - all this happens at the same speed.

And it's not iPhone problem 11 Pro. It’s just that Apple has hit the ceiling in terms of “live” performance. Some Instagram launches in a split second. Well, how much faster?

However, the iPhone 11 Pro is still faster. I noticed this in games. All sorts of heavy games load faster. In some cases, for 5-6 seconds, in most cases - for 1-2 seconds.

I agree not impressive. But available in iPhone 11 Pro new processor there are several compelling reasons. You can't argue with them.

1. Energy efficiency. It is precisely because the chip “eats” less that the smartphone lasts significantly longer. We’ll talk about autonomy separately, it’s very interesting.

2. Unique Deep Fusion shooting mode. The A13 processor and third-generation Neural Engine make this innovative mode a reality. Many photos with its use will be below. You will be surprised.

3. Night mode. And it also became real on the iPhone thanks to the new processor. There’s a complete “head off” there.

It would be possible to make such modes on older processors? An extremely interesting question, you will agree. Apple itself says that no, it’s not possible, only on new iPhones, please buy! Third-party developers who could lift the veil of secrecy remain silent. A real mystery, the solution to which we are unlikely to find out in the coming years.

In synthetic testing, the iPhone 11 Pro has no equal. Check out the difference.

Geekbench 4

  • iPhone 11 Pro - 5472/13095 points in single-core and multi-core modes.
  • iPhone XS - 4786/11052 points.

Geekbench 5

  • iPhone 11 Pro - 1336/3523 points in single-core and multi-core modes.
  • iPhone XS - 1111/2322 points.

Metal (graphics benchmark)

  • iPhone 11 Pro - 29025 points.
  • iPhone XS - 20968 points.

iPhone 11 Pro is the most fast smartphone in the world. He took this title from the iPhone XS. And, most likely, it will hold on until the release of the iPhone 12. This happens with new iPhones every year.

And if it's short?! The speed of the iPhone 11 Pro is the highest. But this is not very impressive, since we have hit a performance ceiling. Despite this, the A13 Bionic chip is an innovation. Thanks to him, smartphones now have shooting modes that will make your hair stand on end. You will see this again. And, of course, time battery life. The chip is very energy efficient, which is why the iPhone 11 Pro lasts longer.

There is no more memory. And it is necessary?

The amount of RAM and internal memory in the iPhone 11 Pro has not changed compared to the iPhone XS. RAM capacity - 4 GB, ROM - 64, 256 or 512 GB. The same applies to the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I believe, that there's no problem with that. There was no more memory, but was there any serious need for it? Release an iPhone with a terabyte of memory? For whom?

More RAM? Applications and even heavy games are stored in random access memory iPhone 11 Pro has been running for almost a whole day. 8, 10, 12 GB of RAM is not for the iPhone. At least for now. There is absolutely no need for them. Let Chinese manufacturers indulge in gigabytes, they are more needed there.

The only adequate complaint I've heard is the basic amount of memory. Many say that 64 GB in 2019 on a smartphone is a joke. Personally, I don't agree. These 64 GB are enough for your eyes.

Here is an example from life. During the first days of testing, I took a couple of thousand photos and shot several dozen videos with 4K resolution. The materials took up about 15 GB of memory, which I later freed in 10 minutes by sending photos and videos to the computer.

And if it's short?! There is no more memory and there is no need for it. Everything is fine with memory.

Face ID. There are major improvements, but not ideal

The speed of Face ID has been increased by 30%, and the scanner has learned to detect the owner’s face from a greater angle. That's what Apple says.

What's in reality? Yes, Face ID is faster on the iPhone 11 Pro. It was not possible to measure 30% or only 20%. This is hardly possible without the use of special equipment and a small team of scientists. But the acceleration is there, and can be seen when comparing the 11 Pro and XS side by side.

The updated Face ID feature actually recognizes faces from more angles. Slightly move the iPhone to the left, right, or even up/down, the scanner seems to “reach out” and successfully identify you.

But the response range of Face ID remains the same. At arm's length, both the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone XS do not find their faces. In other words, about the range - this is a marketing ploy.

I have never had any complaints about the stability of Face ID. Moreover, I think ( and I'm trying to prove to everyone) that Face ID is many times better than the outdated Touch ID and all fingerprint scanners in principle. Therefore, I did not notice any sharp increase in the stability of Face ID in the iPhone 11 Pro.

An improved scanner may still not find my face “right in front of my face.” But only the first time. Repeated scan request - boom, the blocking is lifted. This happened in the iPhone X, in the iPhone XS and remains in the iPhone 11 Pro.

And if it's short?! Face ID in the iPhone 11 Pro detects the face from more specific angles. This is a nice bonus. But there is no “wow” effect from the updated scanner.

Battery life. Here it’s banal RESPECT

Everything in the world is cyclical. 7-8 years ago we laughed at users of Android smartphones who did not leave the sockets. 4-5 years ago, on the contrary, everyone laughed at iPhone users and their batteries up to 2000 mAh. Now iPhone fans are back on the horse.

iPhone 11 Pro is a real long-liver. It is equipped with a battery capacity 3046 mAh, which allows the smartphone to work up to 24 hours (!) in conversation mode when using a headset. This is official information from Apple.

I didn’t talk on the phone for a day, but I actively used my smartphone. Even in the first days, when I was constantly shooting, testing new modes, simply testing various applications and looking for unusual settings, the iPhone 11 Pro did not completely discharge. Only at the end of the first day the charge remained at 15%. In subsequent days from 30% and above.

In recent days, when I already use the smartphone in everyday mode, by the evening sometimes more than 50% of the charge remains.

And if it's short?! Battery life is super! Only gamers who for some reason play away from a power outlet will be able to discharge a smartphone in a day.

Sound. Now it's spacious and easy to hear

The stereo speakers in the iPhone 11 Pro have been improved. There are two changes you should be aware of. First, the speakers received updated sound with simulated surround sound. 3D sound can also be heard when listening to music. Moreover, for this it is not necessary to download songs in any special format.

The surround sound of the iPhone 11 Pro speakers is enhanced dynamic range and more noticeable transitions between tones. You can clearly understand what the difference is by directly comparing the sound with the iPhone XS. The sound of the latter is downright “flat”. Older iPhone models, respectively, do the same.

Not everyone noticed the second change. When you listen to music on the iPhone XS, the high frequencies come only from the top of the smartphone. No other way. The iPhone 11 Pro has better treble balance. They come out both from the top and bottom of the smartphone.

And if it's short?! The sound is more spacious and high frequencies are balanced between the stereo speakers. And all this is easy to hear. You don't need to be a music lover for this.

See our detailed review of iPhone 11 Pro cameras. Many examples of photos and videos.

Go, the most interesting part! The new iPhone 11 Pro is equipped with a three-camera system:

  • 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle with a viewing angle of 120° (ƒ/2.4 aperture),
  • 12-megapixel wide-angle (ƒ/1.8 aperture),
  • 12-megapixel telephoto camera (ƒ/2.0 aperture) with optical image stabilization.

Compared to its predecessors, the smartphone now has an ultra-wide-angle camera. Televik received a new lens with an immediately enlarged by 40% aperture and support for optical image stabilization. What does it mean? And what the iPhone 11 Pro can shoot:

  • with a wide angle
  • with ultra wide angle,
  • ordinary photos with greatly improved quality.

We add to this new unique shooting modes. Night mode, which allows you to release the shutter in complete darkness and get an adequate shot; and mode Deep Fusion, which improves photographs under artificial light using a completely unique technique.

Let's see how the iPhone 11 Pro can shoot. All pictures are clickable - click and see the originals.

Photo on iPhone 11 Pro. Daytime shooting

We start with pictures under excellent daylight. Above is an example of a shot taken with a telephoto lens. The camera did a wonderful job with such a complex shot. Pay attention to the detail... anywhere! Tree foliage, domes, background. All objects have excellent detail. I draw a conclusion looking ahead. In excellent natural light (on a sunny day outside), the iPhone 11 Pro will produce photos with excellent quality. The best among iPhones.

The same shot with a wide-angle lens. The frame is noticeably expanded. In addition to the temple, it included the road, nearby houses and other objects. What about quality? There are no complaints about the detailing of the temple and relatively nearby objects. But in the corners of the image, detail has dropped noticeably. But, of course, to do this you need to zoom in on the photo on a computer. It’s just that, in the general plan, you won’t notice the drop in detail.

Bam! These are the photos the iPhone 11 Pro takes using its ultra-wide-angle lens. And no, I did not run 15 meters away from the subject. I stood still and simply switched modes. Everything was included in the frame. If you look at the photo in normal mode, it looks cool. If you specifically bring it closer, then defects are visible, without which not a single ultra-wide photo is complete. Buildings, lanterns and people at the edges of the frame glanced sideways, relatively insignificant.

One more example.

I said about detailing, now I want to pay attention to color rendition. Apple holds its own. The colors in all the pictures are real.. There is no artificial processing, which is especially clearly visible in the photographs of the temple. Take a similar photo with some Chinese camera. In most cases, the image will look like something out of a children's coloring book.

The same applies to shots taken with wide-angle cameras. The colors are identical everywhere, even check with a pipette.

In other words, Apple is great again. The company didn’t give a damn about those who say that “Chinese” pictures turn out brighter. Yes, bright, but not real. If I want to make my photos artificially bright, I will use filters. And the rest of the time you need the camera to take honest photos. The iPhone 11 Pro handles this.

Another good example of the camera being honest. In this shot, the sun's rays illuminated the temple, it became brighter. This is how the camera captured him. The example clearly shows that the iPhone does not take “dull” pictures. He films reality.

What happens to a photo when the lighting gets worse? The camera does its job perfectly. Here are some illustrative examples. In the photo above, notice the detail throughout the frame. From the front it is clear - everything is fine. But look at the background, in particular, at the domes - the actual subject of photography. They are wonderfully detailed, even upon closer inspection. The building on the right, which has no use in the frame, also came out great. But this is just for show.

And one more example. In this picture I would like to draw your attention to the fact that there are still defects along the edges of the picture in low light. Still, Apple is not doing magic; it is far from absolute ideal.

Photo on iPhone 11 Pro. Morning shooting

The camera impressed me so much that I wanted to test it thoroughly early in the morning. And it was not in vain. The photos turned out fresh, just like that morning.

6:45 am, Moscow City. Photos with Deep Fusion mode enabled, which appeared in . Rich colors, excellent detail throughout the entire frame, and the absence of even barely visible noise reduction. Cool shots from the first release of the shutter. And it doesn’t matter that there is not enough lighting.

Similar shots from the same place.

I advise you to open the source and study any of the images in detail. You can clearly see that there are really no serious defects in the frame. And this is provided that the lighting leaves much to be desired.

But let's not be fanatical. No light - no show. This photo was taken at 6:30 am. The trees blocked the rising sun, causing the detail to drop. And lo and behold! The noise reduction work is visible at the edges of the frame. Bring the latest Huawei here, I'm changing to an iPhone! Just a joke, of course. Obviously, without normal lighting, you won’t get “tasty” shots.

« Or will they work out?“, I asked myself when I went out to shoot the next day at six in the morning. These photos were taken at 6:15, in Deep Fusion mode.

I can find fault here, but I won’t. The pictures turned out great and nice to look at. And even though the work of the noise reduction is clearly visible on the left side of the frame, these are all trifles. You can shoot on the iPhone 11 Pro early in the morning. It will turn out cool.

And if it's short?! The pictures taken during the day, in the evening and even in the early morning are beautiful! You can shoot at super-wide angles, but just as importantly, regular photos have gotten better.

Night shooting mode. The moment when you realize that you didn’t spend 100 thousand on a smartphone in vain

If for some reason you are reading this review while standing, have a seat. The iPhone 11 Pro's new Night Mode may make your head spin. I'm serious.

Night mode is a key innovation in the iPhone 11 Pro camera. It fundamentally changes the understanding of what can be photographed with an iPhone and what cannot. The example above describes night mode the best thing.

This photo was taken at night. When I looked at the picture in front of me, I was sure that it would turn out to be a terrible photo. These are usually removed immediately. This is a long-standing habit that has remained from all old smartphones. You think: “ It’s dark in front of me, I won’t get a good photo».

But the iPhone 11 Pro and its Night Mode changes everything. Now I can point my smartphone camera at a barely lit object in the middle of the night and get a mini-masterpiece. It is this understanding that is changing. Because suddenly you realize that you can take a photo in conditions in which you had never even thought about taking a photo before.

Okay, more examples. Yes, there are defects here, that's understandable. But I like this shot. And especially the way the iPhone captured the stars. How are they on topic here! The perfect addition to the frame.

I will still criticize this example. The foreground is completely dark, nothing is visible. The photo is not about him, but you always want more.

What's most impressive is that Night mode can be used for wide shots. By the way, few people talked about this. All Night Mode photos from Apple itself or reviewers captured some objects located near the camera. Even then, I wondered whether the iPhone 11 Pro could take equally cool photos of general plans. Our own practice has proven that it can.

A couple more great examples of night mode working. Again, look at the sky. The stars become visible - this is a very cool feature.

Of course, even night mode needs light. If you shoot in complete darkness, then the night mode will pull something out, but you won’t get a masterpiece.

How is this possible? The wide-angle camera matrix together with the A13 Bionic processor uses a specially designed system. First, the camera takes a whole series of pictures. We don’t notice this, since only a second passes, but the camera manages to take enough photos.

Then the processor is connected. It uses Apple algorithms to combine the resulting images. This process helps eliminate distortion.

Next comes contrast adjustment, color correction and noise elimination. Have you noticed that the noise reduction work is almost invisible in night mode images? So this is all thanks to a special algorithm.

And if it's short?! Night mode changes the general understanding of what can and cannot be photographed. If before I didn’t take out my iPhone at all to shoot after eight in the evening, now I can take a great shot even late at night.

Video recording. Traditional quality, but still noisy at night

Note: All videos are available in 4K resolution at 60 fps.

Morning video shooting on iPhone 11 Pro

As I wrote earlier, I tested the camera even early in the morning. Lack of lighting does not in any way affect the quality of video recording. Take a look at the sample above. Detailing, color rendition and smooth camera movement are all at an excellent level.

Daytime video shooting on iPhone 11 Pro

A small sample that clearly demonstrates the iPhone 11 Pro’s shooting capabilities during the day in low natural light. The video does not show any defects.

The zoom, first optical and then digital, works perfectly. The camera hardly shakes when zoomed in. It is important to note here that I filmed everything hand-held. It should be better with a tripod.

This is the sample I like the most. It clearly shows how the iPhone 11 Pro's camera captures many small objects spread out across the frame. And all this is in motion.

The sample demonstrates how the iPhone 11 Pro records multiple moving objects in one frame. Visible problems No.

Night video shooting on iPhone 11 Pro

Night photography on the iPhone 11 Pro has the same problems as previous models. The work of the noise reduction is quite visible. Yes, technology does not yet allow us to completely eliminate defects. But progress is needed. We will wait in iPhone 12.

And two more samples with the same meaning. With artificial lighting at night, normal videos are obtained. But there can be many improvements.

Bottom line. Best smartphone, but the price tag kills all the fun

iPhone 11 Pro is the best smartphone ever released. Proven design with nice tweaks like frosted glass, most powerful processor, unmatched battery life and an all-around amazing camera. A cool device, for which, alas, you need to pay at least 90 thousand rubles.

And it ruins everything. Yes, if there were “dollars at 30” everything would be different. But let's not live in a fantasy world. For most, the iPhone 11 Pro is too expensive if we talk about buying without installments or credit. This is the main disadvantage of the iPhone 11 Pro. Otherwise the smartphone is great.
