Epson Print Factory series printers come with a built-in system continuous feed ink (), so the cartridges need to be replaced with them. You can even refill Factories relatively freely with ink from third-party manufacturers. The ink consumption counter, however, has not disappeared from the L-series models and after “working out” the full volume of ink in the donor container, it still blocks printing, requiring refilling (an indicator with a drop-shaped icon lights up on the front panel).

Carefully! If you reset the counter, refill the ink in the donor containers. It is convenient when their real level coincides with the Epson Status Monitor readings. Otherwise, the printer may continue printing with one or more ink tanks empty, and printing without ink damages the printheads.

Codes for resetting the counter

Some kind of protection against use was used in the early modifications of the L-series: L100, L200, L800. Original Epson ink cans had codes printed on them that had to be entered into the print management program to reset the ink levels.

For devices of these versions, three ways to solve the problem are relevant:

Reset key

At the “Print Factories” L110, L210, L300, L350, L550 and others, everything is even simpler. When the ink in the donor tank is running low, the print management program will warn you and ask you to refill it.

Wait until the teardrop-shaped indicator on the front panel of the printer lights up, and then press the Reset key (the button on the front panel with a triangle-in-a-circle symbol). Just remember to make sure that you have actually refilled the ink bottle.

PrintHelp program and resetting the diaper counter

In addition to the ink level, Epson devices keep a digital record of the filling of the processing cartridge, or as it is also called “diaper”. The cartridge collects ink that spills past the sheet when printing without frames, as well as ink from cleaning the print head, thereby protecting the printer from leaks. The “diaper” itself can be removed and cleaned, but printing is still blocked after the counter is triggered.

  1. Download the PrintHelp program from the official website. Install on your computer.
  2. In the left menu, select our printer.
  3. In the “Management” tab, select the option “Workout counters – Reset workout”.

Resetting the "diaper" counter in the PrintHelp program for L100

The PrintHelp program is partially paid. For L100, L200 and L800, you can reset the waste ink bottle flow meter free of charge. For the reset code for other Print Factory models, the developers are asking about 600 rubles.

Once again Epson has pleased us with its loyalty. In new L-series printers, namely L110, L210, L300, L350, L355, L550, L555, there is NO protection against the use of NON-original ink. There are no chips and no codes need to be entered. Pour and print!

WHAT inkjet users dreamed about has come true! CISS - on board! There are no restrictions on the use of different inks! All responsibility is the user's risk (a modern car can also use A80 gasoline instead of A92, BUT - not for long).

A small visual guide on how to reset the ink level in printers L110, L210, L300, L350, L355, L550, L555.
This can also be found in the documentation for the printer, but, as a rule, no one reads it.

After one of the ink containers is more than half empty, the “Drop” button will start blinking. It's okay - the printer will print for a long time.
After the “Drop” lights up constantly, the printer will be blocked so that you can refill the containers with any ink, and most importantly, reset the ink low error. Here's how to do it all:

As you can see, the requirement comes down to checking the physical level of ink in the container visually!
Now remember the requirement in other familiar printer models with cartridges!
They demand replacement! cartridge. And there is no other way. But why doesn't Epson require you to see the actual amount of ink remaining in the cartridge? Can't you guess? :-)
Okay, lyrics aside. Let's move on (this is just an instruction).

Interestingly, "you can continue to use the printer even if there are NO new ink bottles" :-)
Further..

That's all!
No chips. No cartridges. No blocking.
In general, Epson did the unimaginable - a printing machine.
Previously, they produced machines for “printing money” for themselves, but now they “allowed” the use of any ink without restrictions (except for the warranty).
True, L series printers are much more expensive than previous series, about 5 times. So they have everything thought out.
Well, for people with our mentality, the main thing is that you can use NOT the originals.
This is a very controversial issue and a fairly large number of users are now inclined towards original inks of their own free will, and not under compulsion from Epson. And it is right! And honestly!

Epson L800 is equipment designed for economical printing of photos and CD/DVDs, equipped with six ink tanks of different colors, protected by a special key. After the refueling process, the device requests the keys printed on the label, and only after they are entered does it begin to function. So many owners of these devices are interested in how to bypass codes and apply similar Consumables other manufacturers.

For this there are special utilities, which perform the reset function. One of the most common utilities is PrintHelp. A program from the developer Resetters, which supports Epson L series inkjet printers (L100, L110, L200, L210, L355, L800).

After the release of the new line of Epson L series printers, InkTec tested and recommended for use on these models.

However, to prevent the use of third-party ink on the Epson line of printers with built-in CISS L100, L200 and L800, Epson began to produce ink with unique codes. After refueling the CISS you need to enter unique code indicated on the label and only after that the printer will perceive the fact of refilling. So is it possible to bypass these codes and use alternative consumables? Yes, a solution has been found. Leaders of sells

On my blog, I have already reviewed the Epson L800, the best inkjet printer for photo printing with the original CISS (continuous ink supply system). There are quite a lot of positive reviews for this model on the Internet; this easy-to-use and reliable device is used not only in small businesses for printing photos and in the production of souvenirs, but often at home. High-quality borderless A4 photo printing justifies both its dimensions and its price. But today we will not talk about that.

Any printer sooner or later requires “refilling”. I will try, without going into technical details, to tell you how to refill the Epson L800 with non-original ink. Why unoriginal? Because original ink for Epson L800 is too expensive, and any normal owner of a printing device is always looking for an opportunity to save on consumables. Fortunately, you can always find it on sale big choice non-original ink for most inkjet models. I’ll also tell you about a program for resetting ink levels PrintHelp.

Ink for Epson L800

As I already said, there is a good range of inks available for inkjet printers from various manufacturers - just take your pick. But what to choose? I, probably, like many novice printer owners with CISS, have read a lot professional articles with tests and graphs, as well as discussions on forums dedicated to my inkjet printer model. And he concluded that “every sandpiper praises its swamp.”

After some hesitation, I finally had to settle on a couple of brands recommended by the authors of articles and posts on specialized forums. But chance intervened, and I bought another ink - also one of the frequently recommended ones, but not a bestseller. Once I stopped by a small photo salon, the services of which I had used before, and which used the L800 in its work, I talked with the “printer”, asking what kind of ink they pour into the printer. And in the end I took non-original ink for Epson L800 " Host » is the best option in terms of price-quality ratio, which has proven itself in streaming printing. There was no visual difference with the print on the originals, this is quite enough for my purposes (photos for home photo albums).

How to refillEpsonL800

The fact that the time has come to “refill the tanks” can be seen not only visually – by the level of ink residues in the tanks of the continuous ink supply system. The device itself will inform the user about this. When the ink runs out, the Epson L800 inkjet printer flashes a “drop” - one of the three buttons on its left side. There is nothing wrong with this (as a rule, there is still a small supply of ink left). Although the “drop” blinks for a reason, ignoring this message for a long time is unlikely to benefit the photo printer, or more precisely, the components of its printing system.

Ink in multi-color inkjet machines usually runs out unevenly. At the same time, many L800 owners have natural questions: whether to drain the remaining unused ink from the remaining containers, whether it is possible to mix original ink with non-original ink, etc. In my case the first ones ended Light Magenta, Light Cyan And Yellow. The remaining three containers contained more than 50% of the original ink.

Trusting the advice of users of a specialized forum resetters. ru , I simply added the appropriate ink to the empty containers.

Replacement Epson ink L800 is a simple matter. Any owner of this model can cope with this - regardless of gender, age and education) How to refill the Epson L800 with non-original ink?

  1. Move the block with CISS to a horizontal position - with the plugs facing up.
  2. Remove the latex plugs from the ink reservoirs.
  3. Carefully add ink of the appropriate colors to the empty containers.
  4. Close the holes with plugs and return the CISS to its place.

That's all, actually. Refilling the Epson L800 has been successfully completed - at least the physical part of it. But, as you know, every manufacturer tries to protect its equipment from the use of “non-original” consumables. In the case of inkjet printers L line, for further normal functioning of the device, you need to enter special ink codes, which, of course, are not included with non-original consumables. But, in our case, everything is done much simpler. To restart the printer into working condition, you need to reset the Epson L800 ink level, which is performed programmatically.

PrintHelp – program for resetting ink levels

You can download the PrintHelp program Here . This is not a product abandoned by the authors, as is often the case with small utilities, but a constantly developed and updated professional service software. For L800 owners, resetting the ink level and resetting the “diaper” or waste counter is free.

Small, but at the same time simple and trouble-free, the PrintHelp program has previously helped out many users of Epson and Canon printers, and it will help us out too.

After downloading and installing the program, run it. When you first launch the program, you will be prompted to select a printer for further operations on it.

Then you need to select the required operation - in our case it is " reset ink level". When I continued, the printer gave me a window with warning information.

Just in case, I checked the ink levels again using PrintHelp and decided not to wait for them to suddenly run out during the printing process by pressing the " Reset ink level «.

After this, the Epson L800 continued to operate as before. In the printer properties, the information has, of course, been successfully updated.

Here, in fact, are all the instructions for replacing ink in Epson printer L800. I think there should be no difficulties in repeating the described sequence of actions. It remains only to add that all actions were carried out in operating system Windows 8.1.
