This wooden iPhone stand is not only durable and beautiful, but also very pragmatic. Contrasting the smooth lines of your iPhone with the grainy texture of wood creates a gorgeous desktop accessory - the iPhone stand.

Step 1: Preparation

You will need:
1 amazing piece of wood slab, the more the better,
table saw,
I made this iPhone stand to be compatible with my iPhone 5C, so I used a 1/2" drill and also a 5/8" router bit,
Acrylic paint, color of your choice,
Small brush.

Step 2: Tree Selection

I took this piece of croaker because it had overflows of color from light wood tone to black. It was a great candidate for an iPhone stand because the bottom was completely flat. This means you don't have to plan or sand the bottom. In addition, the width of the tree, about 9 inches, fits perfectly under the iPhone stand.

Step 3: Cut to size

Cut the piece of wood depending on how wide you want your iPhone stand to be. I cut off a piece of 7 inches and tried it on the table. So my final product was 9x7 inches.

Step 4: Cut the Groove

In order to fit the iPhone 5C into the iPhone stand, I need to use a 5/8 inch cutter, which is even larger than I need for my phone (+ cover). I only cut about an inch deep. The length of the cut is entirely up to you. Since the width of the cut will be what holds the phone, the length can either be just a little longer than your phone, or the entire length of the iPhone stand. I cut a length of just over 3 inches.

Step 5: Coloring the iPhone Stand

So in order to make this iPhone stand not only beautiful but also functional, there must be a way to include iPhone charger 5.
I measured the largest diameter of my iPhone 5's charging cord, and selected the appropriate drill bit. For me it was about 1/2 inch.
I measured the center point in the groove of the iPhone stand and drilled through it.

Then I picked up and glued four small rubber stops to the underside. This raised the iPhone stand about 1/4 inch off the table surface, allowing the wire to charger pass underneath.

Now you can sit back and admire your amazing iPhone 5 stand!

In our progressive time it is difficult to meet a person who does not have a mobile phone. Even sending a child to first grade, parents provide him with the necessary means of communication. We use modern mobile devices not only for communication, but also for gaming applications, typing, reading, watching videos and much more. Often, the owner, who wants to have a phone always at hand, wants to place it convenient way. The stores offer various expensive holders, but from our article you will find out what you can do

Stationery binders

Surely those who study or work in the office will have several stationery clips called binders on their desktop. Next, let's look at how to make a phone stand from these devices. To create a strong holder, you can use 1, 2, 3 or even more binders. Some craftsmen assemble three-dimensional structures from a variety of clips of various sizes. But such coasters look bulky, and they are inconvenient for temporary use. It is enough to fasten two binders together and do not forget to bend one metal end of the holder slightly towards the phone located on it. Even one piece with a folded lug will be enough to support the mobile device.

From the same binders, you can build another structure by placing the clamps opposite each other so that the ears look to the sides. The phone is inserted into these ends, as if into grooves. To keep the clips stable, clamp a small piece of cardboard on both sides.

Using pencils

If there are no binders at hand, the question may arise: how to make a phone stand out of pencils. Before building this design, prepare 4 rubber bands and 6 pencils. In fact, you need to assemble a three-dimensional geometric figure - a tetrahedron. The principle is that it is necessary to fasten two pencils with an elastic band, and stick the third between the turns. It is advised to use pencils with an elastic at the end to prevent slipping on the table and a stronger grip on the phone.

bottle models

In the household, we use a variety of cleaning and detergent products. Most of them are contained in plastic containers. It can be used as a mobile device holder. And how to make a phone stand out of a bottle, we will consider further.

The type of fixture will depend on the shape of the container. It can be a container for shampoo, shower gel, cleanser and more. Take a bottle twice as long as your phone. Cut off the neck and part of the container on one side approximately to the middle. All sizes are relative - measure at your discretion. On the opposite area of the bottle, cut a hole corresponding to the parameters of the charger. You should end up with a piece that looks like a handbag or a pocket with a handle. Put the phone in the stand and connect the adapter to the network through the hole. Your mobile communication device will not lie on the floor, and the risk of crushing it will disappear. You learned another way - how to make a phone stand. Optionally, this holder can be painted, pasted over beautiful paper or cloth.

paper clips

The simplest and most affordable stand option is an ordinary metal paper clip. It must be unfolded into a straight line and folded as shown in the diagram. The resulting product is quite strong and stable. This design holds up well. mobile phone, without interfering with watching the video at all.

Cardboard and plastic cards

How to make a cardboard phone stand? You will need a cardboard sheet from which you will need to cut a strip measuring 10 x 20 cm. Then you need to fold it in half along the short sections. Next, draw a shape as shown in the photo below. The fold line must remain intact. Opening the detail, you will see that you have a comfortable and stable phone stand.

If you have an unnecessary card lying around (any discount card), it will also make an excellent phone stand. To make such a device at home is very simple. Step back from the edge of the card 1 cm and bend the part along the short side. Bend the rest of the card in half reverse side. You will get a zigzag shape. Place the phone on the formed ledge. The stand is ready.

Unusual coasters from simple things

Savvy people began to use ordinary glasses as a phone holder. They only need to be turned upside down, which, in turn, must be crossed. Mobile device is located between the frame of the frame and the temples that hold the phone.

How to make a phone stand from a children's designer? In this case, it all depends on your creativity and imagination. To create such a model, you need to use a platform and several bricks of various shapes. The stand made of parts can hold the phone both vertically and horizontally. The tilt of the screen can be adjusted by adding or removing additional bricks.

Another interesting detail that will help keep the phone upright is the old cassette holder. It must be opened and the lid folded back, thereby turning the box inside out. In the hole that once served as a pocket for an audio cassette, you can put your communication device. The convenience of the stand is that it is quite durable and transparent, does not interfere with the use of the phone. In addition, it can be easily washed.

As you can see, from the simplest items that can be found in every home, you can make such a useful thing as a phone stand.

Almost every new iGadget with its appearance stimulates the developers of peripheral devices and releases new and new products, even in those directions where, it would seem, there is nothing to think of. For example, stands for iPad, of which a huge number have been released since 2010, but this does not prevent specialized companies, designers and just craftsmen from regularly presenting new models.

This "hit parade" consists of 25 coasters for iPad, not each of which will appeal to readers - there is no friend for the taste and color, however, all the devices included in the list are unique in their own way and demonstrate the author's vision of the role of an accessory in the user's life - ascetic minimalism can be combined with wide functionality and vice versa, however - judge for yourself .

1 . Pretty serious fixture with 4 adjustable nodes will provide access to the iPad almost anywhere;

2 . The reverse situation is minimalism in design, however, the functional component is reduced to “turn on the film, set it, look”;

3 . The first representative of the "dendroids", of which there will be several on the list, is distinguished by the complexity of the design;

4 . Another tripod stand that will help fix the iPad even in an open field;

5 . The first "hit parade" hybrid that successfully combines unique design with impressive functionality - you can attach this spider almost anywhere;

6 . Another stand for lovers of minimalism in design;

7 . It cannot be said that this is the first implementation of such an idea in design, however, it looks very impressive - fans of futurism will appreciate it;

8 . One of the most "custom" stands for the iPad - it bends into "three deaths", in accordance with the needs of the user.

10 . An example of a very effective and rational approach is a monumental kitchen stand with tablet protection from splashes, drops, steam, etc.;

11 . Stand "Hello from the joiner" for real wood lovers - it's hard to draw the line between a masterpiece and sawmill consumption;

12 . Another stand that can make domestic users nostalgic for school labor lessons;

13 . The photo clearly demonstrates the scope of the following accessory - video recording of events using an "apple" tablet;

14 . Another wooden option with rather modest functionality;

15 . Another kitchen helper - this time, not so elegant and practical, but made of natural material;

16 . Stand for true fans of Apple "Back to the Future";

17 . Another model for culinary specialists and other fans of peeping into the iPad when their hands are busy;

18 . Stand from the remains of a window box. But seriously - an eco-friendly accessory made from recycled wood;

19 . A simple and elegant option - a music stand for iPad settings on a flat surface;

20 . An easy-to-make metal stand for any flat object, including a tablet;

Do you love wood? We are very. Although metal, aluminum and the minimalism that accompanies them are in fashion now, wood products remain unchanged classics. And when such a noble material collides with modern devices, it turns out not at all stupid, as someone might think, but quite harmoniously.

Why this lyrical introduction? The fact is that today we are not reviewing another cable, docking station or external battery. In our editorial office there were unusual stands for the iPhone made of different types of wood. We have tested these outlandish accessories and are ready to share our impressions.

First, a few words about the material. The coasters are made either from natural beech or natural oak - here, as you like. No pressed sawdust and other perversions: real wood and completely handmade. This also affects the weight of the coasters - not to say that they are heavy, but by no means as light as their plastic counterparts. On the back of the iPhone stands there is a hole for attaching a special stick, which is included in the kit (by the way, also made of natural wood). With the help of this design, the stand is kept on the table, bedside table, stool - in general, wherever you want to put it.

iPhone sits in its "groove" perfectly, everything is calculated to millimeters. There are stands for both / 6s and iPhone 5 / 5S / SE: if the “five” can still be installed on a stand for iPhone 6, then it will be simply impossible to put a 4.7-inch smartphone in its place. Products are made under specific model iPhone, not a millimeter more. And there is one downside to this.

For example, if you want to place iPhone stand in a case or bumper, it will no longer fall into place so beautifully - the smartphone simply will not fit. It also imposes restrictions on the use of third-party cables: a special groove is adapted either for original accessories, or for those that are close in shape and size to them.

Nevertheless, the originally executed coasters, the material and the idea itself are worthy of respect. Pleasant to the touch, they will look very cool in any interior - the oak version, for example, goes well with my home oak table. There are also universal accessories where you can put your iPhone and attach various little things.

In general, we liked the coasters: the design is interesting, the execution is a solid five, after all, nothing compares to wood. We thank the guys from NBW.MOSCOW for the provided accessories - there you can get acquainted with the full range of docking stations and stands for Apple gadgets, even for MacBooks.
