There is a large administrative region called . Nowadays, this peculiar village, which is called “Professor’s Corner,” is the resort center of Alushta, where a large number of tourist and cultural sites and attractions are concentrated. Here, a few kilometers from the regional center, nestles the Utes resort complex, where, right on the coastline, multi-storey boathouses with open terraces are full of all the colors of the rainbow, from which a bewitching view of Bear Mountain (Ayu-Dag) and the endless expanses of the sea opens. Utes has a promenade with a variety of tiny restaurants and souvenir shops, as well as many small pebble beaches. Despite the large number of tourists in the summer season, a relatively quiet and secluded atmosphere reigns here, not typical for Crimean resorts. There are also places in Utes that have come to our time from bygone eras. Since in the last century these lands belonged to Princess Gagarina, there is an old princely estate here, which today is used as one of the buildings of the local sanatorium. Not far from the Gagarin castle there is a house church of the Gagarin family, where services are still held. Near the village there is another ancient estate - the Karasan Palace, owned by one of A.S.’s best friends. Pushkin and the heroes of his poetry - Nikolai Raevsky. The exotic name of this estate is consonant with the name of one of the Persian provinces - “Khorasan”. The building has the style of Moorish architecture. Like many other ancient castles of Crimea, Karasan, over the history of its existence, has acquired many legends of varying degrees of truthfulness. It is also impossible not to appreciate the excellent nature of this village. Not far from the Raevskys’ house there is a cape of volcanic origin, Plaka, which offers an unforgettable view of the embankment and the harsh massifs of the Crimean Mountains. In ancient times there was a fortification with a lighthouse. A few tens of meters from the coastline, a group of rocks called “Three Sisters and the Monk” protrudes from the sea, around which there are beautiful underwater reefs that attract divers and spearfishers. One of the most significant attractions of these places is the picturesque parks located in Utes, which are on the list of monuments of landscape gardening art of national significance. One of them belongs to the territory of Gagarina’s castle, the other belongs to the Raevsky estate. However, recently, these parks have been united into a single park complex. There are many coniferous trees, palm trees, as well as about 300 rare species of plants and flowers brought to Crimea from all over the world.
