Ways to view downloads in Microsoft Edge
There are at least two ways to get into the download list. The first is through a special icon on the toolbar and the second is using a key combination.
In order to view the Edge browser downloads using a keyboard shortcut, you need to press the “CTRL” + “J” buttons on your keyboard.

I don't recommend turning off SmartScreen completely because it helps prevent you from downloading a malicious file or app, but you can disable it in the Microsoft Edge browser if you want to override its protection and download a file it doesn't recognize.
Disable SmartScreen in Edge.
You can disable SmartScreen in the Windows Defender Security Center app altogether or just for Edge, but it's faster to do it directly from within the Edge browser itself, especially if you're already open and using it. Here's how to turn SmartScreen on and off in Edge:- Open Edge and click the "..." button in the top right corner.

But what happens if you change the download folder? Nothing special, the files will just be downloaded to where they need to be, that is, to the folder that you specify - this is convenient, since it often happens that the folder Downloads Over time it becomes clogged with all sorts of debris.
You can manually change the folder using the registry; I advise you to read about what it is and why it is used.

Because his Edge browser will recognize, that is, understand what it is, but damn, it turns out that there is actually a function inside to change the download folder? That is, they simply did not give access to it? I’m asking some questions =) In general, this only confirms that in the future they will put a button somewhere that will change this folder for downloaded files =)
Now double-click on the created parameter, and there will be a value field, that is, you need to indicate where exactly you want to download the files, for example, to the desktop, then specify the following:
%USERPROFILE%\Desktop
%USERPROFILE% is just a variable in Windows, it retrieves the full path to the current user's personal files folder.
Well, it’s clear that you can specify another path here, for example, so that all files are downloaded to another disk, then specify its letter, for example D:\. These changes will take effect immediately, that is, the Edge browser simply, before saving something, reads the folder location from the registry and starts downloading there, so there is no need to reboot =)
